![]() 1613 forum posts 72 photos | Was in hospital yesterday for a transperineal biopsy the surgeon came to the waiting area and said there was unfortunately going to be a two hour delay however he did say why later I asked the theater sister what the problem was she told me that a piece of equipment had been sent to Germany for a service and had been returned with a part missing so they had to send to Nuneaton for the part "Vorsprung durch Technik" or what !!! ![]() 550 forum posts 190 photos | Ah! Nuneaton is the new 'Germany' now then! And I thought it was only famous for Clarksons (then March Engineering) and the best Fish and Chips in the Midlands - sadly no longer the case as the old nickname of 'Codder' for Nuneaton is not appropriate now the fish trains for London no longer change engines there (the wagons often used to lose a few boxes of fresh fish whilst the locomotives were changed). I was constantly told that "The Excellence Comes As Standard" But, in my experience, not all the time. ... Howard Excellence means excelling the standard, so it can't by definition come as standard. Just the usual advertising exaggeration. |

Just like BMW's slogan a few years ago: The value of perfect engineering. Which I first spotted plastered all over the dealer's wall when I was delivering another 2.0l diesel with a failed timing chain and less than 5k miles.... |

In heaven the cooks are French, the policemen are English, the mechanics are German, the lovers are Italian and the bankers are Swiss. Where we're going the cooks are English, the policemen are German, the mechanics are French, the lovers are Swiss and the bankers are Italian.

Like the little girl. when good, very good, but when bad TERRIBLE! I prefer the version I once heard. When she was good, she was very good, but when she was bad, she was even better! |

Who had that immortal catch phrase "the Germans bombed our chippie"? That would be Stan Boardman - not seen much on TV after a joke about some Fokkers during (I think) the Des O'Connor show. Rob |
