Fizzy, why not get some name plates blanks with the CE mark laser cut in and stamp all the other info on before fitting. No need for a big punch then.

Why do you need 50mm high characters for your little boilers? I would have thought 5mm would be quite adequate

Chris,

I would have thought that sticking a nameplate on would not be accepted as permanently marked.

I've seen the plates tack welded to steel boilers, John Rex ones spring to mind.

Also seems good enough for Tornado

"the CE marking is at least 5 millimetres - unless a larger minimum dimension is specified in the relevant directive."

I could have a go at CNC milling a punch for you, if you get stuck.

You must use a damn big hammer to make a mark with a 50mm punch

KWIL, my 4CD boiler has a plate just like I describe tack welded to the boiler. Most machinery has nameplates stuck on or screwed on, I have never seen anything with stamped CE marks, but then again I have never bought one of Fizzy's boilers.

I knew I had seen a good photo on a model boiler, ones from AJB below. Bit bigger than Fizzy usually knocks out, these are 13" dia
