I will particularly as I have worked with industrial robots, in particular ABB, Fanuc and Piovan Star.

What stand no!

Wife and I will be there tomorrow. Aiming to visit the RAF museum at Hendon as well, I'm going through a minor aero modelling phase at present - I blame a KK Sopwith Camel and the micro Quadcopter I got for Christmas.smiley

Rod,

I bought myself a micro Quadcopter before Christmas, still trying to get hang of it, are Keil Kraft still around, as a teenager they were the kit of choice,

I will be on the St Albans stand.

Keil Kraft equivalent designs are available but at around £12-£20 last time I looked.

BTW if you have got into flying arrange to attend the NATS at an airfield just north of Gainsborough on August Bank holiday, making sure to camp for Saturday night to attend the evening maniac  fly in with your rubber powered or free flight tiny IC (strictly NO RC). Take a helmet as there is no traffic control.

I'll be there accompanied with my wife - not really interested in model engineering but very interested in limiting what I spend!!!

Yoryky If you are really interested in limiting your spend don't go. I go every year and tell myself I don't need anything. I always come away with things I did not know I needed, and an empty wallet. The other option is leave the credit card at home and only put in your wallet what you would be prepared to spend, or give swmbo your cash, on reflection perhaps that is a bit drastic.

Martin,

Keil Kraft models have been re-issued by the Vintage Model Company. Not cheap, but a nice bit of nostalgia - it's 25 years since I last did any of this sort of thing and nearer 45 years since I made the (non-flying as it turned out sad ) KK camel. Waiting for some calm weather now to give it a go.

Cheers,

Rod

Every show finds me coming away with some impulse buy!

My wife would have to dragged to a show in chains, she has absolutely zero interest in anything engineering; until the cooker/washing machine/car won't go. Then, suddenly "How useful!"

To give her credit, she does "Ooh" and "Ah" over my products, but her eyes glaze over when offered an explanation of what it does/represents.

Since she very rarely enters the workshop, she has no idea what equipment or material is there; a bit like the model rail enthusiasts who keep new acquisitions in the tunnel for a while before saying "New? Had that for a long while"

So you have to indulge in a little subterfuge ....

My wife's attitude is " If you want it then of course you must get it." You've no idea how limiting that is!

I would like to go but it's about a 10hr. round trip now.

Dusty, it's the wife that's not interested and wants to limit what I spend. I'm happy to spend, spend, spend.

oops yes, Grantham, Maggie's town, RAF Barkston Heath. I've not been for a few years. I hope they don't get all HSE and shut down the evening flying. It is also the cheapest camping anywhere if you just want a weekend away. The Sunday morning hanger full of sales tables is also a place to get an original Keil Kraft kit dragged out of someone's loft.
