More about me:

Recently taken early retirement after 40 years on the railway (freight) and like many, have converted the garage into a workshop. Fortunately have a very understanding better half and can disappear into the man cave at regular intervals for hours on end, only emerging to carry out essential reps and maintenance to the house etc.

My background is in electrical engineering and railway vehicle maintenance (locomotives) but had a traditional railway apprenticeship which covered a grounding in mechanical engineering and workshop practice which started my interest in model engineering.

Keen to learn new skills and put them into practice and looking for a club / society to join.

I subscribe to Model Engineer, Model Engineer's Workshop and Engineering in Miniature. Hopefully i'll develop the courage to post more over the coming weeks / months.
