![]() 1531 forum posts 44 photos | Had my Astra-Zenica jab Thursday 21.Jan. Do not recall any side-effects. And I'm on a chemotherapy drug. And drugs following a mild heart attack. But then I've had most of the 'flu jabs over the last 10 years (I think it is) with no side effects at all. (I say most of the 'flu jabs because one was missed due, I suspect, to a letter being sent to the wrong Peter Shaw.) Peter G. Shaw

1081 forum posts 39 photos | Had my Astra-Zeneca jab Wednesday. Arrived at first check in person on time and handed through five people directing and separating to get the jab. Back in the car fifteen minutes in total. Thursday woke with slight headache which lasted all day, went to bed at 10:00 and sweated through the early morning. All well on Friday. Wife, 68 had hers today. |

357 forum posts 13 photos | My wide and I have had our jabs, yesterday (Friday) mid afternoon. We both have a slight headache today, not much, a small 'naggy' one, if that means anything to you. I also have a slight backache - but I'm prone to get those, so probably unrelated. No other issues so far. We've both been taking 200UI (50ug) of vitamin D, from March last year, 'just in case.' We don't get out in the sunlight enough, especially in recent weather! Bill |

7517 forum posts 20 photos | We had our Oxford jabs on Tuesday at about 09:15. Other half eventually had pains in her arm for a while, but I was knocked for six. After spending about an hour in the workshop (usual before fingers get cold) in the afternoon, I got the shivers and then went to sleep (nothing unusual in that🙂 ). Afterwards, I felt awful with no balance (as soon as I looked down, I was falling forwards). I (unusually) left the heating on overnight at an elevated temperature, but was still ‘hazy’ on Wednesday. Completely back to normal by Thursday, so the side effects were worth it for the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’. Arm ache on raising my arm continued to Friday but all gone now. This from someone who has had virtually no ‘flu’ jab reaction over the last 24/25 years. |

![]() 1688 forum posts 16 photos | Wife had her Oxford jab on Monday, following two days had banging headaches, Thursday, Friday and today has been really under the weather with flu like symptoms but beginning to ease off now. Kept telling her it was better than a respirator in ICU, she didn’t appreciate my comments. Dave W |

86 forum posts 4 photos | Both my wife and I had the Oxford jab last weekend, booked through GP. Arrived at surgery early but went straight in and was out within 5 minutes. Symptoms were very minor with a sore area on my arm and feeling little achy during the night. All well by the following morning, Having had two tests and the jab I have no complaints about how this aspect of the Covid outbreak has been organised. |

![]() 442 forum posts 19 photos | Text from local health centr/sugery about 2 weeks ago saying I could book my jab locally, went on linked web site NO VACANCIES. Wife went online to find that there were no vaccines available at the moment.(so! Why the text message?). She found a covid 19 vac centre at the Sheffield Arena about 5 miles away so went on line to book. The site insisted I had to book 2 appointments seperated by 11 to 12 weeks. Booked the first appointment then went to book the second. now one would assume that the second would also be at the arena, OH! NO! not on your nelly, non available at the arena, so looked at options, Casa Hotel Chesterfield seemed ok as it is only a couple of miles further. For some reason I had to restart the whole process again, so booked the first one again, carried on to book the second and the Casa Hotel had dissapeared from the list, nearest was Mansfield!!!!!!! Thought, blow that for a game of soldiers, I will wait till I hear from my surgery ( got a missed call later that evening saying to contact surgery to book my jab locally, few minutes of being on hold got through and booked the jab for Sat 13th, in and out in 20 minutes (15 minute wait after as I was driving). Simptoms so far, no problems overnight, very slight twinge in my arm, no headaches, muscle aches, no temperature (well I do have one, but it is normal LOL), no feeling unwell. Now! will it last?

248 forum posts 33 photos | Had mine (Oxford A/Z) last weekend, ache in the arm for a few hours but two days later a serious shortage of breath that lasted for about 8 hours. At one point considered phoning 111 but it eventually subsided and I've been fine since, the other half just suffered mild flu type symptoms for a day or so. Phil |

Thanks for poining out my mistake. A fairly common occurance when a dementia sufferer and annoyingly getting worse. Bill Bill, don't worry, I thought it was a play on words! Tony |

865 forum posts 12 photos | Since you guys seem to be way ahead of us in (Ontario) Canada, I have a question: With the 2-part vaccinations, presumably you are fully protected (at least against the original strain) after the second shot. But what level of protection do you have after the first shot? |

Sorry .... I've reposted my question to its own thread. Unfortunately the mood varies in these forums from on-topic extremism to "anything goes" so it's hard to tell sometimes. Generally, a minor amount of topic shift/looseness has been taken in good part over the years but ... |

4655 forum posts 304 photos | I had my first Pfizer vaccine on 3rd February, but have never had a test. On the second day of testing in the UK, I took my sister who is a nurse, to Bristol airport for a test, which was carried out by a soldier of the Welsh Regiment. There were also Royal Marines there doing testing. She now has weekly tests, both fast and standard at the nursing home where she works. Edited By old mart on 14/02/2021 19:42:38 |
