![]() 2929 forum posts 41 photos | Just spent an hour or so making an aerial for the wifes new radio, two arms at 49Cm locked into a Con Block and then screwed to a piece of wood for mounting vertically outside as high as I can get for line of sight. Need to buy some flat twin 300 ohm cable now. I hope it works as we are only about 5 or 6 Km from the broadcast station at the top of Blue Bell hill. I sprayed it all over with Acrylic lacquer. ![]() 713 forum posts 6 photos | Hi Ega: Not my design, I'm afraid. I did think about it, but don't have welding kit. You can see it at https://www.kmxkarts.co.uk/Recumbent-Trikes/KMX-Sport/KMX-Tornado-F8-Adults-Sports-Trike.aspx. They come in flat packs, and are quite easy to put together (instructions rather better than most flat pack furniture). Got it because a stroke has impaired my balance, so I can't ride a bike.

The saplings were a mixture of Hawthorn , Hazel , Field Maple , Spindleberry and Crabapple , each being staked and protected with tubing. It was tiring but satisfying .

![]() 910 forum posts 197 photos | It's more of what happened last week when going to an appointment at the Doctors on Saturday for a leg infection. I just managed to get there after nearly collapsing I certainly jumped the queue and ambulanced to hospital. Signs of a heart attack when doing an angiograthy they found a severe calcified lesion in an artery and could not put a stent in so had to be sent to Hull Castle Hill Hospital. It was a form of drilling the calcification and fitting a stent then the following day my Sister took me back home. Was told I had Angina I have the utmost praise for the care I was given and have sent a favourable report to the C.Q.C. a change from the moaners who should go to private Hospitals we are not at a hotel when ill but there for treatment. I met patients who had life changing illness going back and forth to Hospital after my admittance we had many laughs with staff and fellow inmates. We all made the best of our circumstances and they had no self pity one of the patients does work to get genuine homeless back into society a very nice person I was nearly homeless many years ago so feel very strongly for what he tries to do. I now have angina the privilege to have met some great people both as patients and hospital staff with some lasting happy memories of them all.

A patient that was on my ward and in the same trade as me car body repairs with using two pack paint it had penetrated his skin the hair follicles was a path as well. The result his immune system was ruined he came in with pneumonia while I was there but he is a regular patient now. |

You may find small internal chamfers a problem as it looks to only have about 7deg of front clearance so will start to rub on small dia holes but should be fine if you need any external ones. Same will apply to yours Neil Will limit the diameter I can do, but Michael's appears skewed to have more clearance at the back? Neil |

![]() 2929 forum posts 41 photos | OK, the flat 300 ohm cable, 10 mtrs to reach the fixing point on the wall and back into the kitchen. Blue Bell hill transmitter is line of sight but obscured by trees that affect the signal when wet. Lots of trees here on the top of the North Downs in Kent. At one time I worked on ariels for particular frequencies and had a GDO to check that they worked at the frequencies specified. Mostly line of sight jobbies encased in resin. Made a big patch board for a certain organisation for listening to clandestines. Clive

Thanks for the thought, Jason I was only really expecting it to be of use for externals, or for internals on 'big' [yet to be defined] tubes. Small [again undefined] holes, I tend to chamfer with a countersink cutter. Frankly; I expect to damage this insert before I exhaust its usefulness ... and I doubt if I will find, or afford, a replacement MichaelG.

![]() 2929 forum posts 41 photos | I recently watched a TV programme about laying the 1700 mile gas pipe from Norway to the UK. They welded sections as they went and they used a machine that rotated around the pipe to make a chamfer for welding. It used a tool like that as it did the outside and then the inside chamfers. The pipes were approx 1.5 mtrs dia. Clive |
