Same as Andyg, our college had a single cylinder gas engine which produced an indicator diagram and we were tasked in working out the indicated horsepower with the planimeter. I often wonder what happened to that lovely engine.

With 6000psi acting on every square inch of your body , you will be turned to dust 150 milliseconds before your brain could register it happening . At least they didnt suffer.

JA , got the information from a post from another forum , an article by David Corley , a former nuclear powerered submarine officer .

I believe that the pressure vessel has been located 1600 feet from the bows of the ship. I cant understand anyone wanting to risk their lives to visit a grave site , but each to their own. Horrible thing to happen to them though , especially the 19 yr old lad. Wonder what Dr Robert Ballard thought of the vessel....

Used to enjoy David Wilks , but he seems to have disappeared , hope hes ok.

Ive had a Chinese diesel heater in my workshop for 3 years, excellent it is too. One with the burner and tank in one unit . What can go wrong with them are the fuel atomiser thimbles now and again, cheap off ebay. Be careful when the heater plug has to be removed, they are ceramic and are easily broken. (dont ask how I know). Diesel in cold weather , 2 main phases , cloud point and filter clogging point.

Used to work on Finnish Valmet timber forwarders and they all had a male and female connector near the radiators for pumping hot anti freeze round the engine in extreme cold !.

I bought the Femi 782xl a few years ago and its been an excellent bit of kit !. I think Jasonb recommended it to me if my memory is correct . Managed to saw a piece of narrow guage railway line on it recently on the original blade !.

The green brigade ( theyre definitely green allright ) have been at it again, plus brainless politicians .....

Old mart, well said mate. I changed the headstock oil on my old DSG using hydraulic oil as specified only because I had a can of it , but modern engine oil like 5/30 syn but be fine and in the gearbox too !.If a bloody great Volvo road grader towing a 6 ton roller with about 10 gallon of 5 /30 syn oil in its gearbox manages , it will certainly be ok in a lathe headstock or gearbox.

Still got the lovely Hardinge too !.

The truth might hurt them...
