I live in the south side of Greater Manchester
I am a lifelong Modeller/Model Engineer. I served an apprenticeship as a Marine Engine Fitter on Tyneside in the 1960's. From here I entered the Oil Industry in 1974 and remained in the industry as a Drilling Supervisor until my retirement from Offshore work in December 2014
I have, over the years built model ships, model aircraft, Model aircraft engines to my own design up to 200cc and 5" gauge locomotives but for the last ten years or so I have been involved in keeping old motorcycles running but have recently started making a 1/4" Bentley BR-2 aero engine since shelved to enable me to teach myself how to use a CNC mill. I purchased a Tormach PCNC 1100 Series 3 Mill in 2014 and have spent a long time since sorting out my workshop to accommodate it, having got it sorted out I am now to be found a lot of the time with my head stuck into the computer practicing 3-D drawing and CAM programmes. I am at last able to use the machine with reasonable confidence and am soon to embark on a production run of Model IC engines.
