Hi Guys i have Finished brazing my 5" Tich boiler i am doing my first hydraulic test to see if it leaks i know it runs at 80 PSI and times 2 = 120 PSI test but how long has the test got to be in hours / days also i know i have proper test with wa qualified inspector Thanks Kevin |

at last as i struggled with my 5" Tich I have 2 complete sets of drawing both different at one point it was going in the scrap what i did in the end i got the important things working and I have a running chasse the rest will be best fit converted to metric as i feel fit. . I am 3/4 through building the boiler the only thing the drawing need notes on them rather ten getting eye strain looking at it for hours. I must say if a set of drawing was in a cad file in metric I would purchases a set.

I get 2.5mm torx from china and never had one fail and the cost is much lower and takes about 2 weeks to my door

Hi Tim all I have is the drawings and no material list to refer to on the drawing all it says is 2 holes 3/16 stays and that is it . I will have to see if GKR Kennions have a list as I did get the drawings from them . Thanks for the reply Kevin |

Hi All a question on a 5" Tich the boiler drawing calls for a hollow stay why because fumes from the smoke box to the front boiler plate ! or do i need a hollow stay. thanks Kevin |

Hi Guys I have a 5" Tich and the cylinders are all made from brass what liners do I need cast iron , s / steel the pistons have 3 groves with 4mm PTFE rings advice please thanks Kevin

Thanks for the advice I have just google and Gordon Smith is no longer providing drawings and springs for his designs but they are now available from Polly Engineering. also lots on flee bay for coffee machines the pop type ?

Hi Guys on my 5” tTch I am looking at the drawing of the safety valve an it is just like the rest of the drawings some dims are missing and looks like a nightmare and guesswork as I have not committed to making it yet and believe in open licence is it best to purchases one and know it works. I have Google images on the tich and i see not many people follow the drawings on the safety valve advice please Thanks Kevin |
