Cast Iron is the best material for cylinder liners, and pistons should also be cast iron. You can buy Meehanite bar here. https://www.nogginend.com/product/Cast-Iron-Grade-250-Meehanite-Round-Bar Meehanite is a very good grade of cast iron for the purpose.

Oddly enough, when I asked them (via one of their EBay listings) what Meehanite certification their bar came with, they did not reply.

depends how much running it is going to get. You've still got brass valve face no matter what cylinder liner, I'd use a bit of bronze hollow bar and avoid the rust problems always present with CI

Hello Kevin,

I have placed numerous orders with Noggin End Metals and have never been disappointed. I have always found them to be very helpful and their meehanite cast iron in particular very good.

I have no connection with the company..... I just like the way they conduct their business.

Tom
