![]() 193 forum posts 56 photos | Hi Guys on my 5” tTch I am looking at the drawing of the safety valve an it is just like the rest of the drawings some dims are missing and looks like a nightmare and guesswork as I have not committed to making it yet and believe in open licence is it best to purchases one and know it works. I have Google images on the tich and i see not many people follow the drawings on the safety valve advice please Thanks Kevin |

45 forum posts 4 photos | Polly sell the Gordon Smith safety valve drawings for 50p and have the springs and balls to match. They probably don't list a one for a 5" Tich, but they give some indication of suitability for loco size I have yet to see a loco fitted with this design safety valves fail the accumulation test |

![]() 500 forum posts 31 photos | +1 for the Gordon Smith design. LBSC was notoriously cavalier in his safety valve design - "Nicks" usually summed up the size of the steam escape holes in the cap. |

![]() 193 forum posts 56 photos | Thanks for the advice I have just google and Gordon Smith is no longer providing drawings and springs for his designs but they are now available from Polly Engineering. also lots on flee bay for coffee machines the pop type ?
