Going on Sunday. What's the parking like up that way? Last time I went, many years ago, I went by coach with the local MES.

I've never had a problem but tend to get there about 9.30, can get a bit full later in the day plus the snooker final is on in another hall.

I'm thinking of going tommorrow, although the train from York is a bit steep. Any reports from people who have been today? Andy

Myself and three friends are going Sunday, we are catching the train from Sandy Bedfordshire to Alexandra Palace via Finsbury Park for the princely sum of £6.00 return each, no need to drive or park.

A friend and myself went today (Friday). Loved the remote control trucks, diggers and crane, thanks guys great display. Wish one of the clubs would have put on a display of live steam stationary engines (or did I miss it?)!!! I haven't been for a few years so enjoyed the visit and gave me a chance to stock up with "Bits and Pieces".

Hi Brian

Live steam on an exhibition stand? The 'safety elf' would go apoplectic if you mentioned it let alone did it. I am not a big fan of the'safety elf' but I think under the circumstances it would not be the most prudent thing to do. If you must run them a small compressor would suffice. Just my opinion.

The 7 1/4" gauge people run them at Harrogate under steam and inside.

Mind you Harrogate is a proper show

There were locos running under steam today and I expect all days. SMEE had some stationary engines running on air.

I didn't go in the end, decided to make up a flat pack cabin bed for my daughter instead. It took the entire day I really hate DIY.

Andrew,

Good decision, why anyone would come down from York when you have probably the best exhibition shortly, in Harrogate I do not know. Even JS says it is a "proper show".

went today with several friends and enjoyed a most excellent show, one of the best in the uk in one very interesting building, managed to get items on my list and saw a picture of my grandfathers boat on Victoria Pond which made my day.

Hi, I went today, arrive there at around 11:30 and parking was a bit of a strugle. Bought just a few things, one of which was a second hand M&W 6" Toolmakers' straight edge No. 315 for a tenner, probaly a little overpriced but it suits my needs.

I took photos of three locos which I thought were interesting, which can be viewed here **LINK** for anyone who may be interested.

Regards Nick.
