Hi

I am not sure if this thread will be read as I have just this minute tried to sign up.

I am still waiting for an email to be sent to me so that I can verify my registration.

I have checked my email address that I have submitted and it is correct. I have also checked my spam and there is nothing there either.

Anyway, I will submit this thread and see what happens.

Hi Martin

Thanks for your welcoming response. I will no doubt be contributing soon to the many discussions that are ongoing.

I am not agreat typist and I am missing my Naturally Speaking software that I used to have. I dont have it now because I have a new compoter (Windows 8) and it doesnt speak to that version , so I am waiting delivery from Santa for the latest version!

Once I have that, there wil lbe no stopping me.I will be rabbiting on for Britain at great length!

Hi Bob

I have written a bit of blurb about myself in my profile. Its rivetting stuff!

With regards ME interests, as I am into R/C aircraft, I thought it might be good idea to build an engine.

There is a fascinating video on you tube re the Vega 9cc V twin.

I have made initial enquiries on that, and I managed to pick up on Ebay the 6 editions of 1986 ME with all the drawings and info on it.

However, there are still things I need to know. eg where to pick up the small spur gears for driving the valve gear.

As I said, I will probably write a bit more when I get my typing aid. It took me about 7 min to write just this little bit.

Pathetic isnt it!

John

It's not pathetic it's called perseverance and patience which are just the qualities needed for model engineering and qualities I am not blessed with. I get it wrong a couple of times then it's likely to wind up bedded in the ceiling!!

Cheers

You could also look at the 0.46 Firefly that was featured in the mag a while ago, this is my build of it, drawings are availbale on the web.

As for gears, if you don't want to cut your own then someone like HPC or Moffat will have them.

Congratulation on filling out your profile - seems to be beyond most people. Just one more thing. Whereabouts are you roughly and are you a member of a club?

You've shamed me into planning to add my profile this weekend. We share the same dislikes

Hi Jason

Wow, you must be into "taking snaps" as well as engineering........................Very Impressive!

That's certainly set the bar very high. I will need to concentrate hard to keep up the standard!

However, I really would like to try that V twin. I just love the sound it makes, and it would be a brilliant and unusual addition to one of my model planes.

Hi Bazyle

I am away in the frozen North 7 miles west of Aberdeen. There are very few active clubs in this neck of the woods.

Not enough people really. Plenty sheep though!

Hi John and welcome to the forum.

You seem to have a good range of experience and knowledge that beginners like me need regular access to. wink

Hope you enjoy it here.
