I am 71 Years of age ( when I last counted in 2013) and am a time served engineer who concentrated on centre lathes and milling m/cs (Bridgeport is my favourite) Worked in various contract toolrooms and finally ended up in MSC(manpower Services Commision) as an instructor in milling m/cs and centre lathes until Maggie Thatcher closed down the whole show in the late 80's.
By this time I was in my 50's but I managed to get a job in the local University as chief technician in dept of engineering w/shop.(Quite enjoyed it really, plenty of variety, but poor pay)
My interests are R/C model aircraft, model railways 00 Gauge, video making/editing, anything mechanical that makes a noise or goes fast.................bit of a boy really.
My hates or dislikes are gardening (esp weeding) and speed humps!
I have a small w/shop in the garage with a Myford ML7 and a recently purchased Chester Champion 16v Mill
