Just received an email from MyTimeMedia to say that the latest Digital Issue had arrived. It said,"If you are viewing via a PC, once you have logged in using your username and password, go to the My Account box and click on Digital Issues."

I went to "My Account" only to find that the "Digital Issues" entry had disappeared! After some time checking that my subscription was up to date I discovered that the "Digital Issues" had been replaced by "Online Archives".

Why change it? If it's changed then it should be changed in all references to it in emails etc. It seems to be another case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doingfrown

Russell.

Hi There

All might become clear on Monday with the relaunch of the digital issues and archive.

I strongly suggest you renew or take out a subscription before Monday.

They may never be as cheap again.

Downloads of recent issues will also be available.

So, go and subscribe to Model Engineers Workshop now.

regards David

I have just noticed that on the ME/MEW Web Site under Subscribe that the "Online Archive/Digital Edition" is no longer included with the Paper/Printed Subscription.

I wonder if this is this true or an omission on the web page?(If it is true, I assume that current paper/printed subscribers will continue to get access to the archive until the next renewal date at least)

David (DC1) in an email said " No idea. No one tells me anything. Trying to find out from the office how it works."

But DC did temper his answer by only saying it "might" become clear.

Well, if that comes to pass I shall be very annoyed having recently thinned out my collection of back issues knowing that they will remain available on line. I'll have to seriously reconsider my subscription when renewal time comes around being a pensioner on a limited budgetangry

I would assume nothing given the company that is at the top of the "food chain" for the magazines.

I am a paper subscriber and whilst I get access to back issues online I dont think the subject of this topic is relevant to me, however the topic is getting more and more confusing and as usual we don't get any clarification from the powers that be.

DC's advice to subscribe now because it will never be as cheap, pretty clearly states that the cost was going up a couple of days after his post. As I understand it, not only are the costs changing but also the T&Cs. Anybody that follows DCs advice would be buying a product that the details of will change very soon after getting it.

The printed version of the subscription states '26 issues'. Does that mean that MEW is going to be published fortnightly?

Confused

I can only see references to 13 issues a year for MEW, the 26 / year only looks to apply to ME as far as I can see.

digital issues have been relabeled as 'online archive'
not really difficult to work out.......

and now, having just gone and checked the digital issues/online archive pages again, i find that i am now unable to access any of the digital issues at all !!

i get the page of the thumbnails as usual but clicking on any of them results in absolutely nothing at all happening.

is this some sort of punishment for daring to ask what is happening ? or is it some "glitch" introduced with this new '"relaunch"

You are right of coarse. My confusion is understandable (to me) because I find this website is unsure of its own identity. I went to the subscription page and its tope (green) title shows,

Subscribe to Model Engineers' Workshop Magazine

which I thought related to MEW, granted it does further subdivide into two mags and then two options for each, but I clicked to soon.

Its all part of the fact that there are two groups of readers and two lots of magazine staff and each regard (understandably) it as their own domain.

You dont say where you are Robbo so if you are located in the outer reaches of our planet give the postman time to travel.

On the other hand I am in the UK and not received mine yet, any one know when its supposed to be published?
