![]() 2929 forum posts 41 photos | Yes, a bevel cutter 45 Deg would be fine. Correctly called, 'Inverted dove tail cutter' mscdirect, the prices make my eyes hurt !! I did have one but it has dissapeared. A very desirable item and I am sure someone has filched it. Clive There is one on Ebay but is needing bidding for. ![]() 1243 forum posts 202 photos | Hi Clive, Depends how much work you need to do but why not make one from silver steel? I have made several over the years, not reverse ones, but no reason why not. Mine were small ones to machine dovetails for rifle/pistol sights and quite small diameter, about 6mm O/D. They worked very well providing you keep the cutting speed at a suitable level for carbon tools. Regards John. |

5563 forum posts 322 photos | What's the application? For chamfering Ali I find that a standard countersink works very well, even making quite aggressive cuts. I think with slow feed and light cut it would do mild steel ok too. |

1468 forum posts 3 photos | Hi Clive , Type inverted dovetail cutter into Ebay (search the world option) and you may see what you want and also try countersink cutter. It depends on what you want it for - if it is a true dovetail shape you need then the countersink cutter won't do as it has a shoulder above the cutting teeth but if it is to cut a bevel then maybe it could work.
