Hi There

I have just learnt that Geoff Sheppard passed on last night.

My condolences go to Gill Sheppard and all Geoff's family at this sad time.

Hopefully, we will publish some words in MEW issue 203.

David

David,

Could you please also put it in ME. We were sitting near each other at the BSMEE meeting and sharing a joke and he looked fine last week. We all will miss him dearly and I will especially miss his kind comments to my engineering questions. There was never ever an unkind word like "its for me to know and you to find out" What a man and will be deeply missed in the BSMEE.
I will contact Gill as I am sure that I can contact her and give my respects, attend to a great man.

respectfully to all
Bob Thomson.

I only exchanged messages with Geoff on this forum last week. I have the back issues from his time at MEW, and enjoy reading them.

My condolences to his family.

I'm so sorry. I remember discussing the aircraft we could see landing at Heathrow whilst in the Judges room at Sandown Park last year. He was an interesting man. My sympathies to Gill.

A gentleman and a really nice chap, from Primrose Valley and onwards. Those of us of a certain age will have a tear in our eye.

I think we all will.
I always found Geoff such a kind hearted gentleman and so generous in spirit.

I didn't know Geoff personally but knew of him. His name and face were very familar in model engineering circles. I always enjoyed reading his articles and he always managed to communicate well with the reader. Sometimes we forget there are real people behind all these stories and it's very sad to hear that the model engineering fraternity have lost such a good friend. My best wishes to Geoff's family at this saddest of occasions and perhaps it's a comfort to think he stays with us in his writings which people will continue to enjoy for many years.

Like Chris I never knew Geoff personally, only speaking to him a couple of times at the shows.

I did approach him once to thank him for his stint as editor ot MEW as I thought it ran very well during his term of office.

A sad time for all his family.

Hi, like Chris and John I didn't know Geoff personally. The only contact I had with him was booking in a few exhibits to the shows over the years, but it was Gill that I've only really spoken to.

My sympathies to Gill and family.

This is very sad news. I first got to know him through writing articles for MEW when he was Editor; as others have already said, he was a true gentleman, always kindly and helpful, and with a warm sense of humour. He was a major asset to the model engineering community, and will be greatly missed.

My condolences to Gill and the family.
