Diesel engine???? No, the engine is powered by air pressure. Also you can see the timing gear is 1:1 gear ratio...

Isn't it an air engine not a diesel. Been around for a while but it's worth watching again

He makes the machining of the crankshaft look like a complete doddle

There's some serious skills at work there

On the other hand at the end when its running, the pushrod nearest the camera looks decidedly wobbly as she runs

 

(Better than wot I could ever do of course)

Maybe he prefers to make them relatively quickly and has chosen air as his motive power

Making these multi-pistoned units as proper combustion engines takes a huge amount of time

This one took 6 years of the guys life to do

Hello David,

Diesel or air power, does it matter? It is an enchanting piece of work and the video quality enhances the whole presentation.

Old it may be as apparent from the comments so far, but it was new to me and I enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for providing the link
