Anyone else tried to download the 64 bit Draftsight programme.

It is kicking back fault messages for me. Have contacted Dassault but as yet the problem is unresolved.

Hi - I get " Draftsight has encountered a problem and needs to close"

i have sent the crash report to no response.

32 bit is fine.

Thinking back on it, I think I uninstalled the 32bit first, no reason other than I dont like a cluttered pc.

Do you notice any difference between the 32 bit and 64 bit versions. It shouldn't be very processor intensive, unlike it's big brother Solidworks.

Russell.

I have installed it on my windows 7 x64 PC, but it asks me to register every time I start it up. I thought it was a free 2D drafting program.

Hi Ed,

You have to register for that nag to disappear!

When I loaded the 64 bit it took three times before the registration was accepted and it will want me to reregister after a year!

Still it is free!

Is anyone still using the 32 bit version?

I have the 64bit version installed on laptop and PC and have the 3 PDF's "Getting started" "Tips.001" and "Tips.002" available from short cuts on my desktop. No probs downloading or installing.

Hi Peter Walton.

You mentioned rendering...
Does that mean the free 64 bit version has 3d rendering capability?

I always thought it was only 2D.

I would try it out if it can.

Regards
John
