Way back in 2007 I downloaded a demo version of this program and have used it ever since

I have tried to contact the author with no luck

Is there a full version available or another program for this purpose.

Ian,

I see what you mean ... his website doesn't appear to have been updated since 2008.

Not quite the same thing, but it may be worth having a look at this, as an alternative approach.

Hi Ian,

I had been following Mike Treaths article as well, and had been using the old software quite happily until I upgraded to Windows 7 where it simply doesn't work.

I have tried to contact Mike with no success and have been looking for some alternative software.

There must be something within the CAD area that could be suitable, so I'm still looking.

Hi Dazz,

I downloaded it a year or so ago, now when I put in my details to download it again it says already registered

Like Ian, I wanted to register the software as the demo wouldn't allow the crosshairs to be displayed.

I was hoping Mike would have released version 2 by now.

Ian [and all],

Given the difficulty with CentreCam

This might be useful.

Does any one know what's happened to Mike Trethewey? I too would like to register but no response even though emails are not 'bouncing back'. None of the other software available seems to fit the bill.

Is this an alternative to DRO on a milling machine?

Hi Johan

NO this is not a replacment for a DRO

it is used for finding a starting point ie the edge or a scribe line etc.

I am resurrecting this old thread because I just found this camera with crosshairs listed on ebay. ... Anyone who wants a simple system [i.e. no PC, just a direct connection from camera to monitor] might find it of interest.

... Plenty of suitable flat-screen monitors appearing at the car-boot sales yes

[see my previous post] ... This one is £5 cheaper

Edit:  but it only mentions "cursor" so I'm not sure if it's exactly the same model.

Out of curiosity I just downloaded and installed Centre Cam on Windows 7 x64 and it appears to work with my web cam, Logitech Quickcam Sphere AF. It gave an error during installation about registering a DLL but I chose the "Ignore" button in the dialogue box.
