I can't help with your problem, but I encountered similar trouble a few months back with Opera when it suddenly refused to open some banking sites that I need to use. Nothing could persuade it to work, but as you say both Firefox and IE were OK. My solution was to ditch Opera. Pity really as it seems to be a good browser and quick. My problems seemed to start from just after an update to Opera, looks as thoutgh they shot themselves in the foot. Keith |

![]() 543 forum posts 31 photos | This is interesting, I use Opera on an XP machine at home and it works fine when accessing this and other forums. I work I also have an XP machine which has no end of problems accessing this site and others, the main difference is my work PC accesses the net through a quite heavily filtered proxy server using the companys own network. I wonder is it perhaps our ISP's creating problems, caching pages etc? |

![]() 424 forum posts 98 photos | It's certainly weird, this is the only site Opera won't access, and now, when I get it on Firefox it refuses to recognise me, I have to log in every time. I tick the remember me box and accept the cookie monster but I get logged out every time. Roy |

1481 forum posts 149 photos | Roy, Just out of curiousity, I did a check on how many people who visit our website use Opera. In persentage terms, it came out at about 2.85%. We are in the process of updating our website. Before it goes live, one of the things we are checking is how our new site performs or reacts on different operating systems. Unfortunately, advancements in certain areas are proving to be a real pain in the a** in other areas. Most of the Opera users who visit our current site are using v.11.64. We may or may not test our new site on this version, but the way things are going, if our site does not perform 'that well' on Opera, we might just have to 'let it not work well' on Opera. It is not a great decision, because even 2.85% is a good number of visitors (figure I cannot specify due to commercial reasons). So, I guess that the techies of this forum must be facing similar problems, and they too have to make similar decisions. Ketan at ARC. |

![]() 22 forum posts 11 photos | Hi Roy Simply remove Opera from your computer and reinstall it and the Java part of it. Have no problems accessing this site, but had problems with banking sites a month ago. Did as mentioned and everything worked fine.

![]() 424 forum posts 98 photos | As Keith said, it looks like an Opera update has screwed something up somewhere. I like Opera, it's a pretty quick browser. I used firefox up to version 4, then they made it incompatible with the add-ons I used so I stopped using it. It's nice sometimes to use something that hasn't got Microsoft splattered all over it. 512 forum posts 77 photos | Very strange, Wheeltapper! I use Opera almost exclusively and have no troubles whatsoever. I only use Firefox for online banking, because (some years ago) Opera had troubles accessing my bank, and now I didn't check it with the newer versions. Opera updates sometimes without asking permission, what I detest, but you cannot have all. Now it's v. 11.64 here too. I much prefer Opera's page layout to any other browser I tried. To be honest, hiding the bookmarks (some versions ago) was not to my liking. Also organizing them is a hassle, but I rarely have to use this 'feature'. Greetings, Hansrudolf P.S. written in Opera... |

Another option to consider is the Safari browser. I have been using it for some time as a more secure browser than M/S IE. It works well, is fast and never gives any bother on this site. I have used it with XP and Windows 7.

However this page and the main page are still showing 4 code errors on validation. There is no guarantee that browsers will all handle the fauly code the same way. Russell. |
