Certainly John.
David moved back to Poole at the beginning of November and is still waiting for BT to get him connected to the internet. Health wise I believe he is much improved. I am sure he will be back on here as soon as he can - see what you've all been up to!

Once again - many thanks to all who have offered me help by way of articles over the past few weeks. You know who you are. I would have been struggling without you! Also, thank you for keeping a calm forum whilst I've been too busy to keep an eye on it.

Hi There
Health ok at moment.
I am getting the care I require in Poole, at least they are arranging tests.

Internet is not on yet so I can only access occasionally and don't have time to reply yet.
Hopefully on today.
regards David

Never mind" health OK."

I need a bit more than that, I need to see you back to full strength, more specifically
in the jaw muscles so that by the time I renew my subscription- if no putter is included with the subscription gift ( I shall again opt for the set of golf clubs -last years are dirty )- you are capable of getting a firm bite on someone's leg.
Don't worry about whats going on here--the unusually high a------e to good guy ratio on the site resulted in a fight on the block which special constable JS has sorted-apart from that all has been well and nurse Carney has had everything under control.

By the way the welding book arrived in well under 2 months (about 58 days ), in itself an indication all is well and normal. Next year I shall tell them there is no need to rush it.

Just noticed this post while looking for something else. Yes, I came back to the forum about 11 years later. Health is still crap. Overcame cancer, had one leg chopped off and maybe losing the other leg, foot at least. Nice new pacemaker and getting fit to go.

Just setting up a new workshop and starting to write for Model Engineer again.

New series about using the lathe based on a brand new lathe, setting it up, and getting it running.

The lathe has been purchased from EBay. Originally supplied in 1975 to an electrical wholesaler, it was stored in their warehouse and was never used. They closed down and it came into my possession. All of Myford’s original equipment was included in the sale.

It is now just over 45 years old and has the original protective coating on it. And I was only looking for a Unimat 3 to do some small modelling on. Oh well, more fun with the larger lathe.

Coming soon

I was going to offer sympathy on the thread where you mentioned spending a week in hospital recently but got distracted. Sorry about that. You're having a spectacularly rough time, must be very unpleasant and wearing.

Getting old has plenty of compensations but I'm afraid good health isn't one of them! I wish I was a boy of fifty again!

Best wishes,

Dave

Hi SillyOldDuffer

I went out today. My son pushed me up to the local post office and then up to the local supermarket. First time I have been out of the house except for hospital visits in over 2 years.

Health gets to be rubbish after 60. The thoughts and planning for the new workshop are waking me up and getting me moving again.

Hi David,

Welcome back, it's good to hear from you.

This is the second time today that a member on forums that I frequent has reappeared after an extended absence.

It must be the time of year or maybe I m spending too much time on forums!!

Looking forward to hearing more about your Myford, All the best,

Liam

That should give you wonderful distraction from the harsher realities of life, David yes

Reminds me that, around the time your Myford was first supplied : Mr Mole [of N. Mole & Co. in Watford] proudly pointed to a packing crate on his shelf … which contained a brand new Drummond ‘round bed’ that he was keeping for his retirement.

Enjoy the Myford … and do please include a few notes and photos here

Best Wishes to you

MichaelG.

Thank you for all your kind comments. I will post some of my thoughts here. Mind in overdrive. One thought brings back many more related thoughts. Not forgotten buts little bit buried lower down.
