My wife has a mobile 'phone and I don't because I hate the things!

Can both of us use my wife's 'phone with the NHS app. that proves we have had the Covid vaccinations?

As far as I can tell the app is anonymous in that all you have to set up is your location and local authority. I think it uses Bluetooth address data but this isn't linked to your name though it does access location history. So that would indicate that you could both use it. However, I think the proposal to add vaccination status is just that, there is nothing in the current app to allow it.

Shouldn't think so. You are going to have to cave in eventually or get shut out of society.

regards Martin

PS I've only just got one.

I'm afraid it has become a necessary evil nowadays. What annoys me is the amount of ads that plague the screen when you're trying to text, or even Google something. I'd love to know how to circumvent the ads without having to pay for 'no ads premium' service. I did read somewhere, a long time ago, how it could be done but as said, a long time ago, so I guess we have to put up with them.

George.

I assume you are talking of the NHS app not the NHS COVID 19 app, they are two different things.

I installed the NHS app as this is the one that gives your vaccination details, amongst many other details of you health records. You may be able to install the app then register each of you independently to use it. The registration method I used uses photo id for the initial setup, some form of photo id then a selfie. As previous have a google.

vaccination status has already been added to the NHS App. look under the 'your health' tab. As you have to login to the app I guess you take it in turns logging in to 'share' the app on one ohone but it would be a hassle. Their is an option for linked profiles which amongst other things allow you to see the health records for the linked person. IT may be possible to see vaccinstion status for two people that way but haven't tried it.

Hi George

Not sure how you're sending texts or on what type of phone, but I've never seen an advert come up on any phone I've ever used.

Received a very prompt answer from NHS :

Quote; We can confirm that multiple users are able to share a device and mobile phone number to use and access the NHS App, however all users will need to have their own unique email address to be able to register. End quote.

That may help someone else.

Now all I have to do is figure our how to do it!

My telephone is too old for the NHS "app" to work.

I have no intention of replacing the telephone because newer models do NOT have a stereo jack socket for my amplified headphones.

I am happy to write my contact details on a slip of paper with a pen if I go anywhere that wants to record my presence.

The only NHS app I've used is the test and trace NHS Covid 19 app and that is since it cam out and all it records is where I go by reading the Q codes that I find so they can track where ive been which is care homes, retirement homes and hospitals and any where others have set them up, I also use the C19 app by ZOE, for my wife and I, which was set up by Kings College London where I send info about how we feel every day, if weve been tested and details about our jabs etc and how we feel.

Not quite true I have just this moment received an e-mail from Motorola for their latest phones. Their ** G9 ** does indeed have a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack. You may of course not be happy to change manufacturer but I find these cheap(ish) Motorola phones quite good. I currently have a G8 so don't need to upgrade at the moment,

I have an iPhone 6s which links seamlessly with my iPad

Neither connect to my computer!

If anybody is really interested in why, send me your telephone number and I'll ring and dilate on the subject.

I have NOT had my iPhone very long (bought refurbished) and it does everything that I want at present (and lots of things for which I have no use!).

My iPad was also bought refurbished.

But if it's a decision between writing name and address on paper or buying a new telephone, I'll stick with a pen.

Dr Black - I also have an iPhone 6s, and the NHS app, and the NHS Covid app, work perfectly well.

Possibly you have, for whatever reason, not updated to the latest iOS operating system? Currently 14.4.2

Somebody told me that these "apps" would NOT work on my iPhone - and I took that at face value.

I do NOT want any part of NHS to communicate with me by either email or by ringing my cell'phone. I am happy to receive all communications by Royal Mail Letterpost.

It's too much to type to explain why, but if you send me your telephone number OFF LIST, I'll ring and explain.

I hope that you and your family are, and will remain, safe and well.

No, that's entirely fine. I read it that you wanted the app but believed it was not technically possible with your equipment, rather than an aversion to contact with the NHS by electronic means.

Stay safe.

I did believe it was NOT suitable for my iPhone and that suits me.

My GP and orthopaedic surgeon advised me to minimise computer use so the NHS can contact me by Royal Mail Letterpost.

With best wishes and thanks again.

Bluetooth headphones are not particularly expensive .... and you don't have wires.

I'm afraid it has become a necessary evil nowadays.

Certainly some interests are trying to make it that way. I tried to place an online order from a large local (Ontario) computer store chain recently. They demanded a cell-phone number in order to place the order. You couldn't fake it because they send a confirmation code by text which you have to plug in before you can proceed with the order.

Does information-mining really now take precedence over sales? I purchased elsewhere.
