Hi from Hampshire U.K

Hi, I'm an old sage and very late getting into doing some lathe work after many years going way back to Tech. College with ancient Colchester Student lathes.

I've struggled for years turning and drilling holes on centre with a pillar drill with horrible results. Now I have a Warco WM 280V -F (older model) and will need some beginner help with simple lathe tasks when I've acquired some stock to practice with. I probably won't get to the high standard of making steam engines, but if I can do some basic tasks without breaking tools or myself I will be happy. Jim.

Steam engines, like anything, are just a lot of smaller assemblies made one at a time. You might suprise yourself at how much you are already capable of.

Hampshire is quite a big county, Whereabouts roughly are you? I'm in East Hants, Near Alton.

Also north Hampshire - just east of Basingstoke...
