Thread: Best way of moving milling machine |

Most vertical mills are very top heavy, more so modern ones on steel sheet bases ! Your first hope has to be that it arrives still up right. IF not do not unload, return to sender ! Your sheets and a borrowed /hired pallet truck might be easier. You can raise the pallet JUST enough to clear the ground and at the first hint of topple drop the pallet back on the ground. Good luck. For those who live in the country or go to the country NOW is the time for the GIANT PUFF BALL Cannot be mistaken for other fungi. If you are lucky enough to find one,5" dia is good, take it home, slice into 3/8" thick, must have white flesh, if brown it has gone over, and fry lightly in butter, then serve between 2 slices of brown or white bread. It has to tried - mushroom flavour but a bit stronger - superb ! Just eating one now ! Noel |

I live in a village with only 2Ph ! Could you use a 3Ph generator ? If so then it covers all your requirements ! I built one using a peugeot diesel and a 20Kva alternator worked very well. The supply company may not upgrade when they know what you will use it for. As to costs You Only Get What You Pay for. Noel. |

Thread: simple loop alarm for exhibits |

Battery and a relay ! Wire alarm to NC contact and Common back to battery. Wire coil to length of wire connected to battery and other coil terminal to battery. If the wire to the goodies is parted the coil drops and the alarm sounds. Relay coil to suit battery voltage. Noel. |

Thread: Speedo gear size |
29/09/2023 10:16:49 |
My comment on accomadating various drive gear sizes with an eccentric bush was not in the context of a mini more Bedford 4 speeds of the 70s - the box that was always nicked ! Somuch so people would weld them in ! Noel. |

Benedict, You have presumably not attended any of the club shows - even in the SE. Guildford ? There are numerous club shows around the country. Times have changed, fuel costs being the most obvious, both for traders and public. Picketts Lock used to be heaving, the last Ally P was not ! IF someone was to organise a big show in the SE would it get enough support ? On past ratings I doubt it ! Midland or Ally P were both about 3 hours drive for me, Lowmex about 1.5. I will go to both ! The internet has much to answer for, but for those who need advice or help in their purchase the REAL shop can offer a service - but it costs ! This is true of the traders at the shows, I we don't spend, then the traders will go, they have ! And shortly after so will the show - they have. The Midland is in a unique position but if WE do not support it - it will also Go ! There will be no more free lunches ! Noel. |

The rotabroach has a 3/4" parallel shank with 2 flats at 90* apart.. The pin A) enables the cutter to be easily centred and also pushes out the core on breakthrough. Run it as slow as you can and lub. Noel. |
