![]() 7468 forum posts 230 photos | Saw it in 1984 when I stayed with some of mums ex RAF, WAAF friends for a week or so, spent a number of hours over two or three visits to Kalham Island. Aparently it was used first to roll armor plate for Battle Ships, then the stainless steel shell for nuclear reactors. Ian S C |

And if anyone is tempted to model it this is a very nice model of another rolling mill engine. If you have the afternoon spare then its worth looking at the rest of Gil's (RedRyder) videos of his model engine collection. |

631 forum posts 14 photos | This reminded me of a school visit to Ford at Dagenham in the 50s. They had a foundry and rolling mill on site, I doubt they would allow school children in such a place now, interesting visit though. Dave |
