Nice work Paul - your daughter will enjoy playing with that. Now Barbie has her bookshelf you'll have make a complete model workshop for Ken. I've heard he's the jealous type.

Cheers,

Dave

That will only cause confusion; Ken will be in a quandary as to what type, size lathe / mill machine to ask for... suitably scaled of course face 20

George.

No! Ken does'nt mess with stuff he knows nothing about...lathes and mills is for very old out of date people....

Ken will be in a quandry about what type of software to use in the digital printer

Returning to the 'bookcase'....could this not have been made better, quicker and more realistic by simple cutting the ply against a couple of simple templates?   Why reinvent the boockcase? ...or fix what aint broke?

Sorry for any confusion cause d by missing messages. I've been tipped of by Ken that this is apparently not a genuine forum member, but rather a Swiss-based BADOG employee or agent making postings of the same projects in multiple languages on multiple forums as an advertising strategy. Suspicion was raised by the gratuitous positioning of their logo very prominently in every picture. Anyone keen of Barbie bookcases can find the same project elsewhere very easily with their favourite search engine.

Neil

P.S. - in case anyone hasn't noticed the bookcase is about 6" tall and Barbie is twice that.

Poor Ken. Being in a quandary about the size of mill / lathe he wants is typical Model Engineer angst.

I think you should help Ken out by showing him what a really good workshop looks like. So you have to completely refit your own workshop with the biggest and best kit money can buy. I know this is bad news but grit your teeth and crack on Remember you are only doing it because you love your daughter...

Of course "Fizzy" will want all the plans for his little daughter. And why not might one ask ?

Interesting, commercial promotion via the backdoor, surely this would be a tad inappropriate for a model "engineer" forum? i mean, i don't know of any lathe/mill owners rushing out to stock up on barbie merchandise? It would've been far, far more stealthy for it to have been a tooling company/machine tool or whatever. They may have actually got away with it if they actually observed the context of the forum they're attempting to hijack.

It's a shame a few people will always try to ruin something. Glad they got caught.

Michael, what you missed was the machine used to make the Barbie item and the other posts over the last few monthsalso showing the machine.

If you want to see how 'back door' promotions should be none, browse the American Fine Woodworking forum.

The was a chap there from Freud. He would answer all sorts of complex questions about set-up and use of things like saws and routers without any product content. then about half would have a last line that said....And if you don't have the kit, here are the Freud part numbers. He also clearly displayed the logo in his signature.

He was up front and helpful, well respected in the forum.

As Neil said you can find it on other forums that are less astute to back door ads. It is a really crap design very badly executed. Even trailer trash Tiffany wouldn't want that junk in her van;
