![]() 12 forum posts 9 photos | Hi, I am a new member to this forum. I am 18 years old and live in Sweden and been practicing model engineering for 1 year. I have built a Stirling engine and my current project is a Stuart twin launch steam engine which is about half finished. I don’t have any sort of questions (yet) but thought it would be fun to join and maybe share some pictures of my projects if anyone is interested. I am lucky to have access to my fathers workshop which has a Myford Super 7 lathe and a small milling machine. I am looking forward to be a member to this forum and enjoying my time here. Regards: Anders |

![]() 12 forum posts 9 photos | Thank you all for the warm welcome, I really appreciate it. One thing I have noticed is that there is not many people in my age that are interested in model engineering here in Sweden. Probably because they don’t get the chance to try it. I am student at a technical upper secondary school and when I asked some people in the class if they know what a lathe and a milling machine was, they had no clue what it was. Then some month back I told one of the teachers that I had build a Stirling engine he wondered if ti was powered by steam. Hej Michael cox 1 jag bor I Goteborg- I live in Gothenburg. Do you speak Swedish? I will try to post some pictures of the Stirling and the Stuart engine later on. Not entirely sure how to do it yet, but will give a heads up if I succeed. Anders |

Thanks Neil, and thanks MichaelG the link was very helpful. I hope that I managed to create a public album now. I would like to upload a video but if I understand it correct I need to upload it to YouTube and then import it to this forum. Is that correct? Anders |

3631 forum posts 160 photos | Hi Anders I have come across several people who live in Sweden on the web. Some interested in machines and making things but my impression is that they are older people, Much older than you. Metal work in general terms seems of have largely disappeared in schools in the UK too. There does seem to be some around in colleges but that's about it really. John - |

Thank you all for the warm welcome, I really appreciate it. Hej Michael cox 1 jag bor I Goteborg- I live in Gothenburg. Do you speak Swedish? Anders Hej Anders, I have a few words in Swedish only. I lived in Jonkoping for two years so you pick up all the essential words for foods, transport etc in order to survive. However, I do not speak Swedish. Most Swedes are only to keen to practice their English so language was never a barrier. I addition, although I was living in Sweden I was travelling all over Europe with my job so often I was only there at the weekends. Gothenberg is a lovely city and very cosmopolitan compared with Jonkoping. Mike |
