great pity you didn't acquire one of those 'bootleg' dvds - would have been a trivial job to digitise these.

It is the ME archive that is probably the most valuable as the many long build articles serialised over many issues are still required if people want to reproduce the model.

At last !!!! Finally able to visit the site and have the safe padlock showing again. Weirdly when it was showing unsafe and I checked the advance settings it did show the certificate was valid until September but I still had to override the unsafe screen to get to the site.

Not sure how you can do that Neil as they all used to be there so adding more may be difficultwink 2

I may be sharper than some people think.

May be this problem, in which Android devices before version 7.1.1 have trouble with new certificates issued by a new certificate authority, notably "Let's Encrypt".

After change of ownership and being moved to a new server, the forum is now authenticated by a new Let's Encrypt security certificate. As David also has an old version of Android, the planets are aligned, and he's having bad luck! Could be a coincidence, but...

There is a workaround. It is to change the phones' Browser to Firefox Mobile. Seems that Firefox keeps it's own copy of the certificate and doesn't use the wonky certificate checks provided by pre-7.1.1 Android.

I did! Along with quite a few others, I suspect. Browser couldn't find the server.

I had a 500 error if of any interest - my guess is that you were down for at least 3 hours

I noticed! Luckily I was out for most of it, though I'd rather have stayed home watching an Error 500 screen than troll round Tesco's. I hate shopping almost as much as gardening.

Thing is I've got an older Android version and kept getting the unsafe screen and no padlock, seemed to have cured itself on occassions but then kept going back to unsafe. Been O.K. for the past couple of days with padlock now gone back to unsafe yet again so can't really be the Android problem if it keeps changing.

Hi, I also noticed the downtime and the red background M icon was missing from my favourites list and got that error message.

Regards Nick.

Hi, I always seem to have a problem of some sort, when I upload photos to my album. I do not do it often enough to have developed a routine. Yesterday I was in the act of adding some photos of my latest engine, when, at the very moment I clicked on the Add button, I got THE Error 500 screen! I spent a hour trying different things, convinced I had caused it. I then tried to access the site through my Tablet and got the same screen.I am now relieved to know others had the same problem.

Password reset emails never have been reliable. MTM thought many get blocked as spam.

New windows 11 work station Dell. the spell check says there is a problem but there is no way it will fix the spelling problem. also as my tablet still has a problem with security and in this state it deletes messges to another member when you click send and it wipes out what you have spent 20 minutes concocting.
