What's your broadband speed Bernhard? With this checker, I just got latency = 8mS, Down = 51.0 Mb/s, up 9.2Mb/s

I work from my dining table, and because my wifi signal is only average, I used ethernet over mains plugs until last month. These also caused problems, so I installed a cable direct to the router. Now the internet and this forum have both behaved perfectly - rock solid, fingers crossed. The problem was random interference causing multiple repeat network requests and occasional time-outs - computers and the network going 'eh, what, say again, nope I give in' rather than cleanly exchanging data.

Just tried to log in on the ipad - no joy. Now logged in on PC, but it was very slow, having been almost immediate previously - and there was a tiny pop-up window (bottom left) which said "waiting for Facebook". I have nothing to do with social media of any sort, so was on the point of closing the window, when it logged me in. The purpose of logging in was to see whether MEW issue 317 was available online. Paper one arrived Monday. Checked "Magazines" and there are NO issues at all displayed, just white space.

??????

John

Edit: corrected wrong issue number

Hi John, could you let me know what URL you are using to try to access digital issues?

We are currently transitioning from the MyTime media system of displaying digital issues to the Mortons one.

We have updated the links on the site but the logins are not yet working.

I'll keep you up to date as much as i can, but basically you will have to log into the new system with your new customer ID.

When it's working properly I'll be back with proper instructions

Thanks

Darren

Darren,

When I click on "Magazines" in the top, green bar, it takes me to:

https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/members/DigitalEditions/

Is that what you wanted?

And where do I find my new customer ID?

I appreciate your efforts with this transition. I'm sure it will be worth it in the end! Maybe I should just be patient and wait for the instructions.

John

Hi folks,

I was just going to post an update on behalf of Darren, but I see he's a step ahead of me!

Thanks for your patience, I'm sure most users will appreciate the benefits of having someone working on this who is communicating directly with users.

Thanks Neil, and sorry again everyone, this was supposed to be working by now. If you click the Digital link on the home page you will see the new login page

We are planning to send an email to everyone with Customer IDs. Currently, the only way to get it is from the cover sheet that gets posted with the magazine, or by emailing or calling customer services: 01507 529529 - [email protected]

I've updated the information on the latest MEW (317). I'm trying to gradually spot anything out of date that I can edit myself.

Diane is overseas at the moment, but has been in touch with me regarding ME details being rather out of date. She will be updating them when she returns.

Darren,

I must be doing something wrong, but I can't work ou what. I followed your "digital" route, dug my cover sheet out of the 'to be shredded' pile and input my details. (I am assuming my customer ID is the 14-alpha-numeric above my address on the cover sheet.) But I'm told that the details are incorrect. I also tried accessing the archive by signing in with my log in details, which are also wrong, apparently, despite allowing me to log on to the web site. Luckily, I have a reasonably full head of hair, but what now?

John I think current issues have gone out with the old MTM 10 digit number, the new ones have not yet been used.

On the old sheet it is the 10digit number to the right beginning 400. The new number will be located where it shows you on Duncan's link, bottom left.

We will all need to register with Mortons with our new number when we get it and enter a new password too

Your customer ID will be six digits.

Also, the login isn't working yet - I'm still trying to fix it!

Thanks for that, Jason. I think that I'll wait until the dust has settled and I get the definitive email from Mortons. In the meantime, I can spend some quality time sticking my hair back on while I peruse issue 317!

John

PS.  Darren, just seen your reply.  Thanks, but see above.
