Chris how about two pieces of tube, one is 1/2 od x 3/8 I’d and one 5/8 od x 1/2 I’d. Slot both with an 1/8 cutter, slide one inside the other and silver carefully together. Before you silver them you can also set the spacing of the slots/ key ways. |
Thread: simple loop alarm for exhibits |
02/10/2023 18:51:56 |
Sorry J D but I don’t know where you’ve been hiding but this sort of pilfering has been going on for years hence the fact that most mME clubs who exhibit at exhibitions have their own loop alarms as even the most eagle eyed stewards cannot watch everything all the time. Pretty sure I have seen a club stand with cctv at one of the big shows. I had a friend exhibiting homemade aero engines at forncett and these were wired with Bowden cable but odd cranks rods pistons and rings laid on the stand, these are the sort of things that go. |
Thread: Paint Baking in oven |

When I used to do my m/cycle paint I used Joseph Mason E100 enamel and left it to dry for about 6 hrs then put the bits in the oven at less than 100degc for a short period of time. Not sure if it really made any difference but it was very hard to chip or scratch. |

Yes Dalboy this would be fine excepting my abilities in electronics and buying small quantities of components as I dont have an electronic scrap box, I had thought that a kit might be available as in the days of Maplins. |
