Wots the problem?

Windmills up in the air, only taking up a small patch of farmland for the base. Solar panels on roof of almost every building and on odd patches of land unsuited to farming.

All the time there are umpteen local wars going on wasting precious resources even after the First World War to "end all wars" ( oh yeah!) why should I give a bigger?

Sailing ships and windmills seemed quite successful at the time.

I wonder what is the biggest difference between then ............. and now ?

The huge quantity of dull manual work, time, personnel and oppression required to build, maintain and use them.

Scotland might be felling forests to build wind-turbines...

Meanwhile in Wales. big companies like airlines, with no direct agricultural, forestry or energy interests, are allowed to buy farmland to cover with monocultures of alien conifer species, using "carbon-trading" as their excuse.

Whilst in many other places, the more attractive, fertile and valuable is the land for producing food; the more it attracts remote speculators looking for space for solar-arrays, waste-incinerators, huge warehouses and long-distance commuter housing.

It will be interesting to see what our new secretary of state for business, energy and industrial strategy makes of all this.

[ just a statement of fact ]

A few more summers like this one and the problems of wood-burning deforestation in Europe will be solved.

Yeaaaa. That would mean my neighbours getting rid of their stinking polluting stoves and we would not have suffer every winter.😀

Why post this video Blowlamp? Do you think it makes sense, and if so why? I spotted a few flaws. Did you see them too?

So far, others have responded to misunderstanding about Climate Change by explaining the science and identifying the evidence supporting the science.

Blowlamp's turn to defend: if I say the video is dimwitted propaganda, what proves I'm wrong? Please don't waste time stating beliefs, I want facts please! Engineering not politics.

120 million tonnes of trees felled for direct burning within the EU is reason enough for me to question what is really happening.

Can anyone confirm the tree claim before Martin tackles the what is 'really happening' question?

Where does the figure of 120 million trees come from? I have good reason for thinking it's wrong so someone better prove the number is correct! Are they big trees or little ones? And does 120 million matter given that Nature estimate there are about 3 trillion trees in the world?

As for what's "really happening", that field of conjecture is wide-open to conspiracy theorists, If something is "really happening" other than reported developments, let's have the facts please. May be difficult because certain websites don't bother with facts or make them up.

Why can't you accept the video for what it is?

It's just another person's point of view that I happened to find interesting - that's all.

Martin.

Martin.

The video is low value because it's factually incorrect. It's far less credible than the idea of converting grass into methane. The speaker can't be trusted because the opinion expressed is supported dishonestly. As I can't see a way of justifying it with facts and logic the only way to defend it is to repeat the same nonsense louder. Bullsh1t baffles brains.

Points of view that ignore truths may be interesting but they're also toxic. I say the video is in the same class as spam email and fake phone calls - it's designed to mislead. The absence of checkable facts and the presence of misrepresentations is a clear danger signal.

If fact-free opinions on the web happen to appeal to anyone reading this, don't forget con tricks catch victims by telling them exactly what they most want to hear. And even intelligent people like us can and do fall for a good schmooze!

My advice is it's foolish to trust liars, even if their views seem similar to mine. Putting it another way, always read the small print!
