The Dremel nose thread is pretty slack. 3/4 BSF (55 degrees rather than 60) works well enough if you happen to have a tap.

Sorry, Neil; but I thought it worth mentioning before you go into production.

The same thread pitch [3/4mm] is used on filters, of course; which might add some frisson to that ever-popular 'decimal vs fractional' debate.

Just checked my 3D model and.... I used 0.75mm NOT 0.7mm, it's my memory that's wrong, not my design.... Phew!

So it sounds like I have bought the Chinese knock off, metric threaded, Dremel clone from the Lucky Monkey Productorium in Guang Dong Province while you all have the pukka Yankee threaded, Imperial Dutch original.

Well, I am not going to let it bother me, but if I ever wanted to get one of these posh Dremels, like what you have, what do I look for? Where do I go?

Just out of interest my various tables show 3/4" UNC as 10 pitch. This makes it practically interchangeable with an M19 2.5mm thread bar the crest and root shape. All the tables I looked at cunningly omit M19 showing just M18 and M20 which also have 2.5mm pitch. Of course I could be wrong, usually am frown

The difference is about 0.3% on diameter and 1.5% on pitch.

The only way to be certain if the Dremel thread is metric or imperial would be to ask Bosch...

But I guess 3/4" is more likely than 19mm.

Checked my taps down in the shed and as Rod says 3/4 x 12 BSF will fit as that is what I used to make a router plate for someone.

Just got a 3/4 UNC tap off the bay at £6. That should clear my crappy Dremel printed router accessory. Thanks guys.
