As the smoke point of olive oil is about 200 degs C ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olive_oil ), heat a egg cupful of olive oil in the work shop until it starts to smoke, and see if your "PTFE" melts of softens . FWIW Nylon absorbs oil and expands, leave a bit of "plastic" in oil and see if it gets bigger? Frank |
