Hey guys I could do with a spot of local input I'm thinking of coming down for the ME show. Stopping at a relative's in West Kent and visiting the show on Sat.

Two questions.

Whats the weather really like. I've seen the Beebs report but we all know southerners consider 6 snowflakes to be an emergency. We have 18" of snow and counting and we're doing OK  so are you expecting it to be any worse than that or not.

Can I park at the venue?

Hi Wolfie,
Click on the following link for a 5day forecast at Kingston the nearest
town listed on the Met Office So there should be no problems about weather, in fact a mini heat wave
is due ( heat is of course a relative term)
There is oodles of FREE parking at Sandown, but it might be a bit of a
route march if you pick the wrong time. Get there early to park near by,
but queue for a ticket, get there later and get in quicker but you have to
walk further.
If either of the DC's will permit a whinge from me, there are no cloak room
facilities again this year! so leave heavy coats in the car. Pre MHS days of
MEX there was a charming lady at Sandown who would take care of all your
outdoor kit , for a very small fee, while you wandered the show, arh the good old days.

Hi Kwil,
Not necessary in my case, as anyone who knows me will attest.

Hi Neil,

I have one two, but if I tell myself what it is I'll have to kll myself...

Alas! Went to sandwich yesterday to pick up a bike, then another one from Sawbridgeworth (sadly on the wrong side of London). Just wasn't feasible to try and fit in the show with 10 hours of driving in the end

I will be at MMEX next year!

Went to the exhibition on Saturday and was delighted with it, excellent exhibits and trade stands and the Sandown centre excellent. Well worth the 300 mile round trip from Somerset. My dear wife bless her came with me, she is not a model engineer but tries to show an interest and she was in awe of some of the exhibits (the Napier 24cyl engine was her favourite)
Spent a bit but about 0.00001% of what I could have done.

Hi Guys,
I think a vote of thanks must go to David Clark and all the team at MHS and not let us forget  others involved, in particular SMEE's own Stuart Walker for his outstanding behind the scenes efforts, without which the show would be the lesser.
