505 forum posts 99 photos | Job to tell from a photo, but the touched up bit looks very dark for Reseda green, the tin I have would be a match for the panel just visible in the background. Mine is from Paragon bought when they were Stationary engine parts and is labelled Warco green and underneath Ral 6011 Reseda green, and is a good match to a Warco mill of about 2004 vintage. Apologies if I led you astray obviously there must be different Warco greens! Dave Edited By Dave Wootton on 14/06/2022 14:34:59 |

7227 forum posts 21 photos | Went to check the tin of touch up paint for my WARCO Economy Mill. Put in such a safe place as to be invisible! With a machine of that age, a few scars are inevitable! You should see my lathe where 20 years of brushing off swarf have scoured the top coat away in places. But it still machines metal satisfactorily. It is possible that the colour will differ from machine to machine, if the exact RAL number is not specified. I always think of it as "Industrial green" because that is what most machine tools are painted. So a mill from one Chinese factory may differ in colour from a lathe from another factory. And maybe the same applies to lathes, or mills from different factories. (i e Rong Fu Industrial Green may not be the same as from Weiss. Accepting some of the quality control issues that have been seen, the colour might even vary from batch to batch! Howard |

32 forum posts 3 photos | I repainted my Boxford PD8 pillar drill in the correct “Boxford green” sold by Paragon paints. I also have a 2017 Warco WM14 mill and the Boxford green is an absolutely perfect match for it (looks totally different from the “reseda green” posted earlier today. Sorry no idea why it is upside down!

... Accepting some of the quality control issues that have been seen, the colour might even vary from batch to batch! Howard I'll say it does! My Warco tins of touchup green and yellow don't even match the machine they were issued with. My guess is that they source it promiscuously from whoever's selling on lowest price and leadtime, and that machine paint and touchup pots might come from separate suppliers validated on a casual colour match. But hey! I don't really care - they still look better than rusty exposed chips, and the machine does what it should irrespective. I should add that the Myford-labelled paint I bought for the Speed 10 I used to have had the same issue. I didn't care then either. Edited By Mick B1 on 14/06/2022 17:33:26 |

505 forum posts 99 photos | I think Howard is correct about industrial green, the probable reason for the RAL number on my paint tin is that I ordered Warco green and Lorch lathe green at the same time online from SEP, The lady there kindly rang me and asked if I needed a lot of paint as the two colours were identical RAL numbers, and I would end up with 2 litres of green paint, enough to paint quite a lot! . So in the end I just got the one tin, which did match both very well. I also found out from the manuals of two other machines at work that green Boxfords and Condor mills also were Reseda green, so it seems to be quite a standard colour for machinery, shade variations excepted. Dave I did buy a Rustoleum hard hat aerosol of RAL 6011 Reseda green to paint my home built power feed and it was far darker and more blue than the machine paint, but I must admit I used it anyway. As it chips like mad it will be re-done properly one day. And before anyone comments, yes I am an old tart when it comes to machines, I can't help it! Edited By Dave Wootton on 14/06/2022 18:30:44 |

Paragon add on shipping and VAT making their smallest pot of semi-gloss Warco Machine Enamel around £24. The Reseda Green match pot has made me nervous about leaping to such extravagances. Then you should find your local industrial/automotive paint supplier, and get them to colour match your machine. You'll need to take a piece of the machine with you so they can do that. The last custom mixed aerosol I had was about £16, and 250ml of 2k paint is about the same. You'll need a very large machine to use 250ml! |

This RAL colour matching seems to be a bit of a lucky dip and my confidence has been shaken Automotive sounds more cellulose than enamel. Paragon Paint's Warco Machine Green is probably the way to go but not until I am feeling flush |

1394 forum posts 103 photos | Robin, Even allowing fore the vagraries of display colour reproduction, the dark green sample paint you show touching up the edge of your cover is nothing like Reseda Green - the background colour does appear to be RAL6011. Over more years than I care to recall, I have witnessed acres of Reseda Green on a great many machines - it was the default colour that my previous employer used on CNC machine tool rebuilds if the customer didn't have a specific requirement. Your Warco cover looks very like Reseda Green to me, as does the paint in the tin I linked to though, as with all paint, there will be variations between manufacturers & even between different batches from the same manufacturer. It isn't unusal to mix the contents of multiple new tins of paint before use on large jobs that require more than one tin to ensure that the colour is constant across the job. Nigel B. |

To shrug off responsibility I suggest I try and send you my address in a private message thingy. ![]() 678 forum posts | Hi Pete Paint arrived and has been applied. It is a close match on the Warco surface grinder but a bit light on the mill. Mind you it would have to be magic paint to match both. Maybe it would do better if I could give it a stir, I think I have to buy a pot and experiment. Sample much appreciated, you can never have too much information, well, unless you work for SETI when all you have is information bestest Robin |

![]() 910 forum posts 303 photos | Hi Robin, glad it got there, I did give the tin a very good shake before I put some in your container, and left it slightly unfilled so you could shake it, it probably got a shake in the post also so I don't think a stir will effect it much, I tried a bit on my machine and it's a good match. I think warco's paint department has poor consistentsy in paint mix which is your problem. |
