I know this sounds silly but have you contacted Warco?
Mike Yes , But I need 2 spare parts , and they say they need the part no.'s but i dont have the part no's so they say i must pay them £22 for a user guide/parts manual .
This was after GARY from Warco promised the day before to send it via email in pdf format free of charge . his exact word were "yes we have that in electronic format and i can send it to you FREE of charge send me an email at [email protected] and i will send it to you"
Then I enquired where was it ? they changed thier minds they want £22 .
So to have the privilege of ordering any spares for a warco lathe and you dont have the manual/user guide you must pay £22 for the privilege.
As they 1st said they were going to send it me Free via email you can imagine how angry I was.
They then put me through to spares and he (DON) just kept taking the mick and was quite rude by poking fun at me abit like a school play ground "Ive got a manual you havent nah nah nan nan nah" , knowing that i didnt have the parts/manual kept asking me for the part no's. !!!!
So by this time got fed up with them as there was no way i was going to pay £22 to have the privilege of ordering spares for one of their machines.
I was thinking of a new warco lathe next year but i can guarantee after this debarkle that will not be happening ..
So in answer I have already tried that route .
I dont need the user guide just the parts list ..

If you go to the following site and recognise your machine, click on it and you should get owners and parts manuals. in PDF format. Hopefully Warco use the same numbers.

200 forum posts 1 photos | This is strange. Not the Warco I know. I bought a BG600 from them about 4 years ago and the service has been excellent. I guess that the MD has been away at the Midlands Exhibition recently. I would give it a few days and then try to phone Mr Warren. My experience when speaking to him and indeed any of his staff, they have been polite and most helpful.

940 forum posts 30 photos | I have dealt with Warco on several occasions and always I have excellent service. They have always tried their best to meet my requirements and have gone that bit further to ensure that all was OK. As such I have drawn their attention to this post so that they can address the problem at source.
I hope that you resolve your problem with Warco in the near future.
All the best
Martin
Normal exclusions re vested interest in Warco etc. |

I have also forwarded the post to Warco.
I am sure they will not be happy to learn about the problem.
They have been away at the Midlands exhibtion so suspect this is why there is a problem.

56 forum posts 3 photos | All started of well With Gary saying "yeah no problem send us an email and we will look out for it , and send you it via email at no cost FREE"
Then they did reply wanting £22 , this would get anyone's back up ,
Also when i told "Don" that i was considering buying another Warco machine in a years time but based on this debarkle I would prob take my custom elsewhere
he said "good you can buy off who you like "
I was dismayed at his customer service and told him it was apauling and he seemed to agree !!!

I also had this type of attitude from another well known company, they seemed to think they were doing me a favour by selling me some of their productsso, I purchased elsewhere and ended with a better deal. As to your parts try Toolco they do the same type of lathes just a differant badge. |

![]() 2314 forum posts 139 photos | This seems very unusual to me. I've dealt with Warco over many years and always found them most helpful and very willing to spend time sorting problems and answering queries. I don't think your experience is at all typical - I suggest you give them another call next week. Edited By NJH on 21/10/2010 20:09:50 |

Edited By NJH on 21/10/2010 20:09:50 I was very happy at 1st get parts list sent to my email as they promised , see what parts needed ,, order , fit parts HAPPY ..
But then if you want a parts list which is part of the manual its £22 , But my attitude is that they are chargeing me £22 for the privilege of ordering their parts . NOT HAPPY .

200 forum posts 1 photos | Hi All,
If there is a negative comment on my Warco lathe is the quality of the manual. It looks like a copy of a poor copy in A5 size. The diagrams are awful and enlarging does not help. Going back a bit on this tread, Chris Stephens suggested looking at the Grizzly site for parts lists. I have just copied the manual for their G9249 lathe which is the same as the Warco BG900, the same as my lathe only with the longer bed.
The manual is great, 92 A4 pages packed with information including a detailed wiring circuit, changing drive belts and adjusting bearing clearance.
Many thanks Chris, that tip is much appreciated.

1049 forum posts 1 photos | Hi Ray, you are entirely welcome, glad to be of help.
The yanks don't put up with some of the crap manuals we have to, or the dealers there are more on the ball, take your pick.
If there is a good use for the internet it is being able to see what the rest of the world can see, at the click of a mouse.

940 forum posts 30 photos | Hi
Perhaps things are getting better as the manual supplied by Warco for the WM14 mill I bought nearly a year ago is not too bad. It is in A4 format and covers most of the salient points required to run and do basic servicing on the mill. The photographic illustrations while not high quality are certainly clear enough to see what is being described in the text. The manual also includes a schematic wiring diagram showing the 'mains in' and board interconnects as well.
While it doesn't contain as much information as the Grizzly manual, for the next size up mill, it compares quite well. The Grizzly manual covers extra things like cutting speeds and accessories etc which tend to pad it out a bit. That said the Grizzly manual gives more servicing details and running in procedures which are useful and the photographic illustrations are better
![]() So while there is a difference between the manuals with Grizzly having the edge there is hope that we are catching up
![]() If we want the same as the US market then it is up to us to make a fuss and encourage our suppliers to up their game with respect to the manuals or whatever, but the cost will have to be built in somewhere
![]() Cheers
