Thread: Re fridge motor
09/03/2020 18:07:31

Most Air compressors Have a air Filter fitted because they need to breath ,A Sealed unit fridge compressor does not breath . I wonder if you continue pumping out air you will eventually create a vacunm in the unit witch will force it to stop , If when running it seems to be strugerling switch of because the motor is getting overloaded

.Good Luck

Thread: Any motor experts on the forum?
08/03/2020 13:33:30

The motor name plate and details will teel us all a lot , This looks like a 5hp or more size motor. Are you running this through a 3ph Inverter .The motor sound chages when running I wonder if this is running on 2 phases because the inverter has brocken down and lost a phase .

Is this a single phase motor or a 3 Phase one that has been altered..

Thread: Cable Gland

Your push to stop buttons I hope they all have a reset control otherwise once you release when operated the machine will restart , This is not what you require as a Emergancy stop or push to stop is just that Machined stopped. . Supply to Machine Starter control relay coil has been broken , Machine will not start untill the problem or reason has been been corrected.

I solved this problem on my saw bench by fitting 2 way switching on each side of the bench.

Your question on earthing asumeing the complete machine is metal everything will bond through the metalwork.
