Hello Everyone, Yesterday our digital recoder lost all the channels & channel guide. It appears to be a software problem. Lots of complaints on the Sony website. Anyone else suffering from the same problem? Regards, Bear..

Think you answered your own question there, as you've told us that lots of other people complained.

Do you think its connected with this website's software or did you have your ME archive on the recorder?

So has ours and I paid for a new Nat Pan one in Currys today.

It will not show the channel pictures and not record them.

Hi Ian, Thanks for your reply. The problem originated from Sony, not this site. From what I can gather, Sony updated the machines, via the aerial (Don't ask) yesterday, its done automatically. Hi Merlin, Sorry to hear you are in the same boat, have you emailed Sony? Regards, Bear..

Hi Merlin, Been on AV forum. Partial fix. Go to Set Up & select France when it gives you the option. You will get your channels back, but not the guide. Better than nothing. Regards, Bear..

I assumed that after 4 years it had reached the end of its life so didn't consider telling Sony.

Tried Set-up and France but still no channels.

What is the forum?

Thanks for this.

Lengthy thread on this on 'Digital Spy':

Digital Spy

Post No 45 (Page 2) provides a 'how-to' fix that claims to restore both channels and EPG pending official fix from Sony. Word is that recorded material has not been lost. Don't have this machine myself so can't vouch for this info.

Looking into this a bit more it appears Sony transmitted a update to some of there T2 HD receivers yesterday but the update call transmitted activated a number of receivers for which the update was not intented for and has currupted the epg firmware i would of thought sony would be making this a piority fix but booking firmware downloads over the air takes time. As suggested use France and the recordings will be fine and unaffected by a firmware download.

Regards Rob.

Agree, there are plenty of forums out there that deal wih FreeSAT / FreeView issues.

Moderators, can we please have this thread locked and archived as there is no place for it on this forum!

Unfortunately I can't lock it but I would ask that no more posts are added.

If you want to carry it on with Grizzley Bear please do so by PM.

J

PS I had a couple of messages/reports asking if this should be here so its not just me.
