super 7,And on the tumbler reverse two tuffnol gears,One of the gears has
a single tooth missing,I have a new spare, Have removed the whole tumbler
reverse unit but cant see how to remove the the damaged gear, It looks like
it is a force fit in the unit,Dont want to get violent with it but is this a big hammer
and a drift job???, |

tumbler reverse unit in the lathe,But my problem is how to remove
the spindles on which the tuffnol gears run from the unit once i have it
out of the lathe,But thanks for your input so far, |

Is there an Allen key type of grub screw through the side of the body that secures the spindle?

spindles to the unit,They seem to have been forced in or shrunk in, I can
see no way of removing them that dose not involve using a certiain amount
of force, And i am reluctant to use force, But there must be a way, I canot
be the first person to want to replace one of the tuffnol gears |

![]() 713 forum posts 6 photos | Charlie: I had just this problem on a Myford I once owned. Got the spindle out OK, but pressed it back too tightly. Result was that next time I used the lathe on a high speed, the heat of friction set the oil on fire and burnt the new Tufnol gear, so it was back to square one... I was more careful second time around! |

3681 forum posts 70 photos | Please also be aware that when securing the long grub screw, only take it to the point where it "holds" the unit in place, any further pressure not only makes the operation of the tumbler arm tight, it can also eventually force out the spindle which is a press fit as well. |

everything is running well, Its just the damn ticking that gets me
down,Going to have to bite the bullet and do the job somtime soon
