![]() 3988 forum posts 1799 photos | Hi, one way is to log on, then go to the My Account box at the top left of the page and click on my photos and create a photo album. You can then upload photos into the album that you have created, but they have to be JPEG images, but some of the characters like the @ and # ect. must not be used in the name, otherwise you get a blank with a red X in it and you won't see your photos. you can create several albums for different subjects if you wish.
When you have pictures in your album, you can add them to your posts by clicking on the insert image icon, that's the one immediately to the left of the you tube icon at the top of the "Post a reply:" box, and then select the album and then photo that you want to insert.
Hope this helps.
Regards Nick.

612 forum posts 50 photos | okay 1 login to your account 2 join a thread you want to post a picture to or start a new thread for your subject matter 2 right click on "my photos" and click on the "open link in new tab" 3 go to the new page this opens up, this will be your photos bit while the thread you are going to display the picture on, is on the original page uploading picture 4 in "your photos" click "create a photo album" 5 in add new photos give the album a name and click "create album" 6 you now have "add new photos" Now I always copy a picture I want to upload onto my computer desktop page, it's easier to find for uploading. When you click "browse" the computer is looking for the source of your picture to upload, so make sure it says "desktop" (I delete uploading pictures from my desktop afterwards) Click on the picture name and then click open, the address will be copied into the uploading box 7 click upload photos The image/s will eventually appear in a box on the ME page once your computer has transferred that picture. 612 forum posts 50 photos | So you now have your picture uploaded...but you dont know how to insert a picture into a post yet. You use the mountains and sun tab when you write a post. but first you need an address to put into it If you right click on a picture, then click on "properties" you get this box, and you need to copy the bit I have highlighted in the picture, this is the address location of the picture, the link. ![]() 1885 forum posts 111 photos | As charlie and Springbok have highlighted, this is a daft way of doing things because it's not intuitive and any deletions in the containing albums/remote storage, instantly ruins the posts here.
Pictures and other files should be contained within the post so the above doesn't happen.
Albums/remote storage should be an option, but not the only option.
Let's get this place up to date!

612 forum posts 50 photos | Unfortunately the only way to do things tends to be this kind of route. I don't think there are any single click systems because there are bandwidth issues with external sites, so unless you have your own personal site with uploaded pictures the alternative is to upload a picture to an internal part of the ME site and then point to it. Linking to a picture on another site is the internet equivalent of your neighbour plugging his TV into one of your house sockets. (bandwidth theft) The uploading procedures tend to be picky for various security reasons, a system which is too simple leaves itself open to exploitation by naughty people. Ebay has moderately simple automated systems for a user, but ebay users have given ebay all their personal details, and these are independently confirmed through a users bank account. Automated systems which operate on the net get challenged in the courts, and since the net is a global system you can be challenged in any court in Europe, the USA ad-infinitum. There was a wonderful little app tool a few years ago which told you where your personal site ranked on google when a search was made. Simplicity itself, idiot proof, and downloaded by thousands. Click click insert site name click - your ranking is-no 1256 Google challenged it in the US courts and won. Edited By ady on 15/10/2011 07:32:16 |

612 forum posts 50 photos | The only route I can think of would be an app written by ME which could be downloaded by site users. This could then be used to auto-upload pictures from your pooter to the ME site with a couple of clicks...but copyright issues could become an issue and these are something a lot of sites want nowt to do with. I hope I haven't confused the issue here.
The video is of a different website to this and is intended to show how easy it is to do elsewhere.
Sorry that I didn't make it clear in my original post
