Just an FYI-This may have been posted before, but I have figured out what size o-rings work well for my Unimat 3.
The Motor belt is a MSC 09263344 a size 334 Buna N O-Ring - 25 pack is $6.77
The large drive belt is MSC 09263393 a size 339 Buna N o-ring - 25 pack is $7.50
The power feed belt is MSC 09262239 a size 232 Buna N o-ring - 50 pack is $5.71

Large drive belt #340 (85,1mm ID x 5,3mm)
Small drive belt #332 (59,7mm ID x 5,3mm)
Increasing or decreasing one "O-ring" number
( #340 => #341) decrease belt tension
( #332 => #331) increase belt tension

![]() 7468 forum posts 230 photos | Use heat join plastic belting, it works far better than O rings, When all is said and done, it's designed as drive belt, O rings arn't. It's easy to use, and lasts well.
You can get flat round, and V belt in at least A abd B section. I believe that these lathes have a U shape groove, I think a V shape is better but there's not much you can do about that. Ian S C |

1294 forum posts 108 photos 1 articles | Well, the thing to do is to throw away the original setup and make it a new set of toothed belt pullies. You can fit in a set into the original guard that gives about the same ratios as the originals. (Actually the originals do not give the speeds or ratios implied by the table on the machine anyway.) I wrote all this up and posted it in as an article, but it must have got binned or lost in the post, I've never heard any more about it. Or anything else I've sent in over the last year or so. regards John |
