I was looking for the items on making a CNC router featured in MEW and rather than search through my pile of magazines decided to search through the digital archive. I don't often use the system but find that there are a large number missing. Checked several times but still find that numbers 55 to 145 are missing.
Is it my little knowledge of computing is at fault or has anyone else found this problem. ( still looking for the CNC article)

No,you are not imagining it, those issues are definitely missing from the archive, and I am quite certain they used to exist.

Mabye David or Diane can shed some light on this gaping hole in the archive

Just checked the archive and all issues now appear to be available, guess there was an issue with the webserver for a while

Thanks for finding the CNC Router issues. Found them myself by looking through the index just now. For some reason , I still can't find the missing archive numbers on my computer although I don't use them much someone else may need them later.
Thanks for your help.

The hole still seems to be there, but then I am a subscriber to the (paper) magazine & haven't paid the digital subscription - it isn't clear to me from reading the subs page whether you need to pay the digital sub as well as the paper sub to see the whole of the MEW digital archive. Perhaps David can shed some light on this?

Regards,
Tony

Hi There
Paper subscribers should have access to all issues.
Unfortunately as a moderator I get access automatically to all issues so can't check if any are missinf.
I can however check if an issue should be visible to a paper subscriber so let me know a number of a missing issue so I can check?
regards David

Hi David

Like Tony I'm a subscriber to the paper version of MEW but have not paid for a a digital subscription. The "hole" in the issues that I can see is pretty big, issues 56 - 145 inc. The rest seem to be there.

Hi There
Can someone check them now?
I have been through them.
Someone was asked to do them but has not.
I thought they were done.
I might have missed the odd one as I had to do them individually.
regards David

Hi There
Paper subscribers should have access to all issues.
Is this Correct? I subscribe to paper issues of both ME and MEW, but I only get access to the MEW full archive through a separate subscription

When digital issues first became available, although a subscriber to the paper issues, I took out the additional sub for the digital issues mainly because it is more convienent to copy the odd item of interest rather than searching through the stack of magazines. I usually print the item off and then laminate so that the pages remain readable when handling with oily / dirty hands in the workshop. I now wonder did I need to spend that money (£30) or is access to the digital archive free to paper subscribers. Not so concerned about the past but do I need to renew the digital sub this year.

I can see all the MEW issues now - but earlier on today when I looked there was a large gap from issue 56 - 145 as reported by Keith. Very odd.

Tony

So, does this mean I will receive a refund on my digital issue subs to MEW and that also my account will be updated to allow access to the ME archive, to which I currently have no access

Well done Diane,

On the ball there, good to see an efficient response at least .

Hi David,

I at least, will say thanks, without grumbles or moans,  to whoever arranged that we subscribers could have access to all of the archive of MEW, I hope that you had a hand in it, if so thanks.  I will find it a useful facility and it will encourage me to keep my paper subs.

Thanks

and Best regards

Terry
