Hi There
I have just Pre-Ordered the new special.

Product Item Price
Machining in the Home Workshop (Pre Order) - Machining in the Home Workshop ON SALE 29 July 201 £4.99
Products Sub Total £4.99
UK Postage £1.78
Balance To Pay £6.77

Postage and packing is a very reasonable £1.78 to the UK.
The reason for me ordering is so that I can guarantee my copy as soon as it is printed.

The link to get your copy is here.
regards David

Is it OK to post to this thread?
It's not going to get deleted is it ?

I see the MEW archive one has now been red penned and nothing shows from February onwards only an advert for a mug, or is that the subscribers ? hard to know

Went to order but there is no detail on postage for outside of the UK.  Are those of us outside the UK going to get postage at the same rate as the UK customers?

Col, to get the correct postage, add the item to your cart and then go through the checkout process as far as giving it your shipping address. At that point, the correct postage shows up.

And no, it's not the same rate as the UK postage although funnily enough, it's still described as "UK Postage". Confused yet?

Hi Guys,
It is a sad indictment of MHS that the Editor has to buy a copy of the Special.

Hi There
The only way to ensure I get a copy when readers do is to buy a copy.
The office will send me as many as I ask for within reason but it might take a few days
before they send them.
If I buy my own, I don't have to wait.
Like the majority of readers, I look forward to reading it.
regards David

Hallo David,

Is this a collection of previously published articles or is this new material?

Either way some indication of contents would be useful as I'm sure many of us have the writings of GHT, Duplex and Tubal Cain (to name a few) to gulde us. However, I have enjoyed the recent workshop "specials" with descriptions of (for instance) Cherry Hills workshop. If this is advice from some the current "Guru's" out there that reflects modern practice - then that would be interesting...

And will it only be available via the post or can we get it at WH Smiths sometime in the future?

Regards,

IanT

I posted elsewhere (on these forums) that the online order form refuses to accept my complete mailing address (refuses to accept the province in Canada). Is there a workaround? Or...

Thanks

Hi There
Totally new because I have to write it over the next two weeks or so.
Will hopefully cover making a tool rest, sharpening tools and building an oscillating engine from a set of castings.
Lots more useful info.
regards David

Hi David,
Just a small point, if you are writing it why do you need a copy?
christephens
PS How on earth do you find time to do everything? Perhaps one of the chapters in the new special could be about time management.

According to the email MHS sent me yesterday, they have already despatched my copy. If you haven't written it yet, David, I hope mine won't consist of a series of blank pages

Yesterday I also received a similar email from MHS within a few hours of ordering my copy, which surprised me somewhat considering the publication date. Another instance of MHS outstanding efficiency, or maybe crossed wires somewhere ?
