I tried to access the "Subscribers only" section this morning, but I'm banned as I'm not a UK subscriber.
Is there a way in which I can prove that I subscribe through EWA, the North American distributor, and so have access.
Surely I'm not the only overseas reader whose subscription isn't through MyHobbyStore Ltd.?
regards, Mike

Hi There
There is a problem with entering US subscriber numbers to the web site.
We are working on a solution.

It's not much help being a UK subscriber.  The site simply refuses to accept my subscriber number!

My God, David, do you ever rest?  You're so much on the ball it's frightening.  Glad I never worked for you, teaching was hectic enough in Canadian High School, I'd never have stayed the course with you I think.

Hi There
Back issues are available in the myaccount box.
As there is no locked content yet, I expect that is why you can't access it.
I don't know what content to put on and lock.
Any ideas what you would like to see?
regards David

i see the back issues for MEW have been put on (i only subscribe to MEW btw).  I have been thinking about subscribing to ME as well, but I was wondering, what ME back issues are (are going to be put online?) or more to the point, how far back will they go?
regards,
Dave
P.S putting back issues online is a stroke on genius, I was running out of space for the bound issues!

If your "logged in" i.e. you can make posts on the forum, then at the top left hand side of the screen, is a small red box thats says "My account", with a few blue links inside.  If you click on the one that says back issues it will take you to a new page which has the covers of the back issues, simply click on the one you want and it will load up (fingers crossed!!).

I'm not a subscriber and it tells me the back issues are "subscriber only content" so they seem to be locked now.
I prefer to order my magazines from the local newsagent on the "use it or lose it" basis, it also means they are in mint condition unlike some of the dog eared messes I have had through the post.
I don't relish the idea of a significant proportion of the site content becoming subscriber only.

Hi There
It is on the grey envelope and possibly on your confirmation letter.
Enter the 8 digits that are in the * position below.
Ignore the 00 and the R MEW 153

00********R MEW153

Hope this makes sense.
Model Engineer is probably the same.

Bear in mind that the subscriber number was never intended to be used in this way.
regards David

On the back issues of MEW I was doing a search on some CNC related articles and found that issue 140 is 134 duplicated and issue 143 is actually 142 duplicated.

Any chance of 140 and 143 being corrected.

Nice touch this as it certainly speeds up searching, what are the plans on how far to go back ?

What a splendid feature you have with your back issues. Any chance of going back to No1? I have most of MEW from the mid twenties on, and have been buying regularly since mid forties and I would like to see what I am missing.

Hi There John
I have requested issues to be updated.

Chris,
If we go back further, they will be scanned PDF's.
We need original PDF pages as sent to the printer for the digital editions and probably don't have them that far back.
regards David

Hi David,
thank you for the 'Back Issues' section.

In the ME section I note the there are few missing from the sequence.
(4315,17,19,50,53,54,55). Can these be included please?

Regards,
Mike

Hi There
I doubt it.
We should be selling them on CD, not giving them away free.
I have got the first 20 issues loose to scan in but it will take a lot of time.
regards david
