I have just received an E mail from Stan's son giving the very sad news that, after a short illness, Stan Bray passed away, at his home, on Saturday morning..

Stan was regular contributor to Model Engineer, and the founding editor of Model Engineers' Workshop.

He will be missed by his family and many throughout the hobby, especially by his friends in the Peterborough Society of Model Engineers.

As yet no details of funeral arrangements are available, but when they become available, I will pass them to Diane Carney and Neil Wyatt, as well as posting them on the Forum.

Very sorry to hear that sad news, I met Stan when he used to attend the Modelling Week at Primrose Valley Filey, he ran the model engineering workshop along with the late Geoff Shepherd, nothing was any trouble to him if you needed a repair to your model Stan would be there to help you.

A sad loss to the hobby of model engineering.

My condolences to his family.

Michael.

I'm sad to report that, following a brief illness, Stan Bray passed away at home last Saturday morning, at the age of 97.

Stan was a regular contributor to Model Engineer (and Model Boats). He was the person who came up with the idea for Model Engineers' Workshop magazine and it's first editor. His original expectation was that it would be a few specials, but it took off, and we have a lot to thank him for. He was an active hobbyist and model engineer right up to the end.

Rest in peace, Stan.
