I wonder what the commenter sees wrong in the picture.

The two pieces of angle iron have been welded together into a C-section and bolted to the body of the grinder using the manufacturer-supplied threaded holes normally used for the side handle (you can see the head of the bolt).

He is drilling a hole in another part of the fabricated bracket in order to attach it to something or something to it. Having the grinder in place stops the wings of the C-channel flexing due to downwards pressure of the drill bit and also gives something to hold onto.

About the only thing wrong is that it is not clamped down.

Looks fine to me. I would hold the angle iron in my fingers to give it more stability

Just watched that video and if you think the the picture above is good then watch it at about 10mins where he plugs in the "Power hammer" not that it is any good be quicker and simpler to use the club hammer as intended

.

The comment presumably relates to the video, and its author, rather than the specific frame that I grabbed

It looks like he had to use a special jig to hold those two bits of angle iron crooked while he welded them together. Perhaps that could be used to hold it stable for drilling?

I have to admit though that the welding looks kind of familiar. I see a bit of it around here with my ancient stick welder and the welding rods that came with it when I bought it at a garage sale for $50 about 10 years ago. I think the tropical humidity might have gotten into the flux over the years. That's my excuse anyway. I wonder what his is?

I suppose if he is in the back of beyond then he has to work with what's available and I would not want to stifle the ingenuity. Good luck to him at least he is out in his workshop doing something.

Did like the Mr Bean wiring of the motorwink

We are all on different stages in our journey in engineering. Some people progress faster than others, some need guidance, and some either never get any or disregard it.

I look at the engineering I did only 12 months ago and want to throw it in the bin. I made some traction engine wheels I'm proud of today. In a years time I'll probably think they are fit for scrap.

Nearly as dangerous as my workshop wiring. Or not.

I did quite like the cable crimper - it looks like it works better than some of the (not cheap) ones I've bought.

Think I'll pass on the power hammer though.
