5563 forum posts 322 photos | Well, local authorities have been starved of funds for years and building inspections privatised. LAs have extremely limited resources to supervise contracts. Pay is so poor in planning and building control that anyone with real ability learns the ropes then gets poached by developers to apply their knowledge to gaming the system. |

Going back to Grenfell.....I see that the head of the company that supplied the dogey panels still won't talk to the enquiry and, get this!....is a part time fire chief somewhere in France!!? |

This includes the cliche of 'binmen and dinner ladies', all of whom deserve a pension And if you only look at council tax and ignore other sources of local authority income you obviously see the pension bill as disprportionately large. -what you should do is compare the contributions to the wage bill.
