Hi all

I have been a mechanical engineer most of my life and now have the time to learn a new skill which I can do at home. Some thing I have wanted to do from the start.

I am looking for a Warco WM 180 lathe in good condition to get me started on the long path to making stuff.

Cheers

Mike

I know it is not the machine you were looking for, but the Sieg SC3 in the classified ads might be an alternative

Assuming the SC3 in the classified ads is in good order I would think it a good buy for someone. Comes with tooling and has had some mods/upgrades and at a very fair price. If I was starting out I would be interested for sure.

Better to place an ad in the ‘Latest “Wanted” Ads’ listing. That way it will remain for some time - unless you remove it, while on here it will soon ‘fall off the page’.

I think you'll have to be at least a bit lucky. You will have a reason for having decided on that specific machine, its popularity is *relatively* recent, and those who've followed the same line of thought won't be thinking of selling unless disappointed, or their requirements have changed.

NDIY's right - if that's what you want, a wanted advert is probably the way to post it.

Many thanks everyone I will have a look at the SC3. Just typical after some research to have gone for the Warco which is the least likely to find second hand.

I had hopped to have visited some shows this year to have a look at whats what and more importantly have a chat with those who use them. Thanks again

Surprised - I've just noticed there's actually one in the For Sale ads from 14/03/20, if it's still there.

Might be worth an enquiry to Warco. They sometimes have used machines for sale.

Ed.

Welcome to the forum Mike, hope you find what you want. there are often good used machines of all types in eth magazine classifieds, but the whole used market is a bit flat at the moment for obvious reasons.
