Hello,

I am an expat engineer and have been living in Germany since 2002. I worked all over the world so never had time to start up the hobby now I am retired and beginning to model, I have had an ML7 since 2003 now I need to get it up and running.

I have had 4-5 suitcases full of the old magazines dating right back to the mid 30s, lot"s from during WW2, I bought them allin 1978 so there will be lot"s to be getting on with.

Hello Martin,

Welcome to the forum. It will be nice for you to get the Myford back into running condition again; you can then think about what you are going to do with it and no doubt all that reading material will give you many ideas.

Regards Brian

What is the deckel factory? You have got me there.

I want to get this chassis running that I picked up years ago at the Maidstone shop but am unsure what it is for, have had garret mentioned. Any idea"s? How do I post an image on here?

Well due to the lockdown I am selling this item ebay.de/itm/223953984162

Can anyone confirm that it is a Garrett?

Yes, I was told by an engineer in Germany around 2008 that he thought that it was a Garrett.

So I am trying to ID the frame for trawling through all my old ME magazines to find some build info as we all will have lots of time on our hands.

Hi Martin and welcome, if this is a Beyer Garrett frame then following a quick trawl of Hills and Patricks comprehensive book on Beyer Peacock it would seem to show only one candidate, a 2-8-0 + 0-8-2 originally built in 1927 for Burma Railways with 10 more as an emergency job in 1942 before the drawing office could update it to 2-8-2 + 2-8-2. If you want more info PM me.

Best wishes Noel.
